I thought it was great. Then again, pretty much every scene in Dawn Of The Dead is.

Do you mean the original movie? Or the 2004 one? I've never actually watched the original "Dawn of the dead". For some reason it's not on streaming or TV etc.

For some reason it's not on streaming or TV etc. It has been notoriously unavailable and hard to find for many years due to the rights, I believe. Do yourself a favor though and continue to seek it out as it is well worth it. |

I myself have never been aware of any hate for that section of the film.
The introduction of the biker caravan does however signal a significant shift, which leads to the film’s conclusion, so I can see why some may not enjoy the change. The characters had(for better or worse) gotten very comfortable and used to their existence within the mall. It was like a cocoon for them. Then comes the rude awakening of the biker gang, and everything is in jeopardy and upheaval. The illusion of safety is broken. Some viewers may have had a similar feeling watching the events unfold.

I always hated that bit where the one biker is crouched on the ground (has he just come off a bike?) and is "surrounded" by zombies and opens fire on them with a Tommy Gun and is blasting away towards the camera... where you can clearly see there are no zombies because that's where the camera and crew are positioned.
Also, the BP machine bit is really stupid but it is funny.
