I saw that story. Seems really odd unless they're taking the name and doing something different.
I don't think I've ever actually seen the whole thing, but my understanding is that it's essentially a clip show of B movie death scenes hosted by an actor playing a mortician or something.
In my memory they were videos people would find and share online in my early days of internet viewing, and they were rumored to be real deaths, but of course usually were poor special effects shot in a found-footagey kinda way.

Unless they're pursuing some heretofore completely outre concept, I doubt this will work. Film audiences have become too jaded. Heck, when I saw the original film the footage was mild compared to some of the stuff I'd seen weekly in Driver's Ed class. I can't imagine a new version shocking today's viewers all that much...but who knows, and I kind of shudder to think what it might be like.

SOME of them are movie death scenes, others are real.

I see. Gross. I think by the time I saw any of these videos it was probably from later sequels which whatever I just Googled told me was almost entirely fake. I only ever saw brief clips on whatever weird sites we were looking at in the pre-youtube era anyway.

That's the really weird part, if you don't know the movies, imagine thinking something's a movie and it's someone really dying. Like in that crappy Urban Legends sequel when they see a snuff film and the guy thinks it's fake because 'OJ left more blood than that in the Bronco'.

Who knew the crappy sequel to Urban Legend would be a useful illustrative reference one day?

Who knew the crappy sequel to Urban Legend would be a useful illustrative reference one day? Hey I like that crappy movie. 😆 I can see this going a certain direction. Like one of the characters watching some "Red Room" videos and realizing it's real with someone coming after them. ("Unfriended: Dark Web" took this approach. I prefer part 1.)

I was always too creeped out at the thought of viewing real deaths. My friends thst rented it had told me they were all real, only to learn recently it was all fake. Probably holds little appeal for me now, not that I ever did want to see it.

Not ALL of it, I read on IMDb it's like a 60/40 ratio.

I wasn't even familiar with the 1978 movie, but after reading up on it I don't think I'll ever see it. It would be like watching a partial snuff film.

Same as the original, it's a big no from me.
What kind of sick wanker in their diseased brain likes that kind of ting?

I'm not sure even Dave and Chainsaw would touch that one.

They are already filming. Barbie's fist job since leaving "Euphoria" as Kat.
