Silly B horror movie from 1971 carried by the fitting performances from Debbie Reynolds and Shelley Winters. 5.5/10

THE VISITOR 1979 -- I knew from the description that it would be worth checking out and it did not disappoint. This was some experience. The twisted combination of different films--including the Omen and Close Encounters. But when Glenn Ford gets surprised by the weird sound coming out of the pong game--I lost it completely. I had a fit of hysterical laughter that lasted a few minutes--all through his adventures with the falcon and the talking bird toy-it was like that Steve Allen - Tonight Show incident where he just lost it. Tears were flowing, I was laughing so much. This is film you cannot tell people about in plot--you just have to experience it. I am glad I did. This is more than a movie--it is an epoch-defining event.

Luther the Geek (1989) A hopelessly insane madman somehow gets paroled after serving twenty years and goes on another killing spree. Oh, and he likes to bite the heads off chickens, and only speaks in chicken " bock-bock-bock" talk. Gotta say, it was original in this way.

But it does sound...um...interesting.

Snake Island(2002). Tourists become stranded on a snake infested river island in the African Jungle when their boat breaks down. Despite seeing Cobras and other snakes and finding one dead body, when night falls they decide to have a party. Who would've suspected it might not end well? Lot's of fake jump scares(a bit too many) before the killing starts. 3½/10.

The Collection(2012) This is a sequel to The Collector, which I didn't know when I watched this and hadn't seen. A sadistic killer with seemingly vast resources has the police baffled with his mass killings. He kidnaps some of his victims to torture and keep as slaves. When a rich man's daughter is kidnapped he recruits a team, including an escaped survivor from the first movie, to rescue her. This turns out to be quite challenging. Not bad, so I may give a shot to the first movie. 6/10.

The Faculty (1998)High school students begin to suspect their teachers have been taken over by an unseen force. Alien parasites, perhaps? This one's a first time viewing for me, and it turned out to be pretty good. Maybe a little too derivative of Alien, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers and The Thing, but still a lot of fun on its own terms. Some outrageously creative gross-out scenes, though the mediocre CGI effects can be distracting. Written by Kevin Williamson, and this does have a bit of a Scream feel to it. 6.5/10

ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK - 1972 - I had seen it before but forgot a lot of it. Usually, by this time in stories involving devil cults, you can guess the ending in advance. If there is a conspiracy it ends up wider than you thought, and has a "gotcha!" attitude. Well, this one does too, but then they have a second ending which completely turns around that expectation. That's different. But it ends with a freezeframe which leaves you without total closure. There's a book that is displayed in the film-Magic and the Supernatural--which I think turns up in Race With the Devil.

Delirium (1979) A homicidal maniac, potential victims skinny dipping and taking showers, a vigilante committee of prominent citizens, and a pretty girl playing detective. Pretty standard stuff, but it's not too bad considering it's the director's 1st effort and none of the actors are even remotely well known. 5/10.

Don’t know if it’ll have the same effect on a repeat viewing.

The Ghoul 1975 - Old-fashion style horror in the mould of Hammer with a very good cast and potent art direction. A slow starter, but eventually picks up and the shocks follow.

Carrie (1976)A high school introvert becomes the target of bullies who play a cruel trick on her. She retaliates by using her telekinetic powers on her tormenters. Since May is typically the month for senior proms, what better way to celebrate prom season by watching Carrie. It's perfect in every way; the compelling performances, Pino Donaggio's haunting music score, Brian De Palma's camera mastery...I mean, you just can't beat it. Piper Laurie really nailed it as Carrie's mother, whose religious fanaticism is annoyingly pushed to the extremes. And the prom scene, oh man! The way it goes from being heavenly sweet to pure hell on earth...just magnificent! Also, the slow motion sequence that goes from Sue trying to stop the prank to the eventual blood dumping was just so impeccably timed. De Palma knew what he wanted out of that scene and he delivered big time. One of the all-time greats and one of my favorite horror movies of all time. 10/10

The Pope's Exorcist Surprisingly not that bad. It is a lot of typical exorcist movie stuff, but with a hint of self-awareness to it. What really sets this movie apart though is the pitch perfect performance from Russell Crowe, who would fit nicely in a DC Constantine movie. He makes this movie more entertaining than it has any right to be. Also noteworthy is the voice performance from Ralph Ineson as the demon. Too bad the movie devolves into cgi nonsense in the last act, because it started really pulling me into the story at a certain point when certain things are discovered about the history of the house the exorcism is taking place in. The last act almost seems to sort of ignore some of the ideas that were put into place just 10 minutes earlier in the movie. 6/10

I like the scene where Peter Cushing (his birthday is today--I always know his birthday because it is mine too and tomorrow is Vincent Price and Christopher Lee) gives John Hurt a dressing down.
I wish the Ghoul makeup was more scary though. I didn't know the guy playing the ghoul was in Star Wars--he was the head of the imperial fleet who argues with the Death Star creator before Darth Vader chokes him.

The Pope’s Exorcist (2023) The movie has everything for fans across the genre, demons, swearing, grotesque possessed effects from evil dead, blood splatter, and tits! This horror/comedy feels more like a satire than horror. Russell was great, as usual and watching him drive around in his Vespa scooter is not to be missed. The women in this film were well cast and they all aced their roles. Visually, it was kind of mixed, the underworld sequence had some visually gorgeous shots but the goofy ass CGI in the climax blew it. A treat for Evil Dead fans. 7/10

I actually hope they make a sequel and maybe fix some of the issues this movie has, because I want to see Russell Crowe reprise this character in more movies. This is the best character Crowe has played in a long time.

We Are the Night (2010) In German with English subs. A trio of female Vampires living in Berlin are enjoying the night life and stalking victims when they decide to take in a new member. The newbie, understandable, has mixed feelings about her new life style. I had seen this before and gave it a 6/10, but I appreciated the character development of each of the vampires and overall I enjoyed this re-watch. 7/10.

'Mosquito'... Just as fun as I remembered watching it as a kid on Cable.
'Fracture' again after awhile. Hopkins and Gosling are great.
'Nurse 3d' Trashy fun. But during the Climax when she goes Postal on Workers and Patients is very effective.
'Wicked Blood' re-watch it's kinda similar to 'Winter's Bone'.
'No Exit' on Hulu
'Sadako DX'
