The World of the Vampires(1961) B&W Mexican Vampire movie. Not a good movie, by any means, but a fun watch, kind of in a so bad it's good way. If I still drank and smoked weed I might've rated it higher. 4/10. My archenemy Colman!

Finished off October with:
It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
followed by
The Devil Rides Out - 1967
and
Necromancy - 1972 which I had not seen before. It's not a good one for Orson Welles or Pamela Franklin.

Cat People (1982) Picked one of my favorites for Halloween. A young woman who unknowingly belongs to a cursed race/family who can only have sex with their own kind lest they transform to a panther, comes to New Orleans to live with her long separated brother. Nastassja Kinski is perfect in the starring role, and also very hot. 9/10.

The Fifth Cord(1971) A reporter investigating a string of murders comes under suspicion since he new all the victims. Pretty standard Giallo. Franco Nero is good as the reporter but the nudity is light and the killings relatively tame. 5/10.

I'll watch it every now and then because of Franco Nero and Vittorio Storaro's stylish cinematography, too bad that the plot is not very involving. It's interesting among 70s gialli for it's repeated use of ultra-modern architecture, a full decade before Argento's Tenebrae.

Blood Tracks (1985)A film crew shooting a music video in the snowy mountains are terrorized by a local family of savages. You guessed it, just another Hills Have Eyes rip-off. It wasn't the sleazy, exploitive piece of enjoyable 80s trash I was expecting; it's just bland, dull, and moves at a snail's pace; you know you're in trouble when a movie feels like an hour has passed by, but you're only at the 30 minute mark. I watched this British/Swedish co-production on YouTube, and I can tell some of the more graphically violent scenes were trimmed in a couple of places, and there might have been some nudity cut out. But it doesn't matter, it's not worth seeking out the fully uncut version (which, by the way, will be released on blu-ray next month by Vinegar Syndrome).

Short Night of Glass Dolls (1971) An American reporter stationed in a Central Europe is found dead, apparently, but as he lies in the morgue his mind is cognizant as he tries to backtrack his actions and remember how he got in this state. More a mystery than a horror. 5/10.

I was contemplating purchasing this, along with another slasher film Vinegar Syndrome recently released; ‘The Ghost Dance’. Nowadays, I rarely buy movies I haven’t seen before, unless it’s a cheap secondhand discovery, but I was going to make this an exception.

I've had Swedish dvd of this for years, but somehow never got around to watching it. Mats Helge's The Ninja Mission (1984) is an old favorite from vhs days, definitely not a great movie technically, there's some charm in doing a Hollywood style action movie in Sweden. Helge later directed Russian Terminator, which is not as entertaining, and another horror-thriller, The Forgotten Wells.
