Creepshow III Mostly terrible, and cheaply produced DTV anthology. In spite of it though, while far from memorable in its story choices, it wasn’t boring.

CRY OF THE BANSHEE 1970 50th anniversary
The last of Vincent Price's AIP Poe-inspired films I tend to forget almost everything about it after I watch it--except the closeup of a real dead sheep. I think it's the weakest of his Poe films--just doesn't come together in a fun way and is also fairly nasty--tries to emulate Witchfinder General but lacks any real compassionate characters except maybe the visiting son who reminds one of Oliver Reed. Technically a werewolf film I suppose yet seems to fall out of contemplation--I can't say I ever see it referenced compared with just about every other Price horror film of the era. Fairly uninspired shock ending too.
HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS 1970 --50th anniversary premiere for this is a day away according to IMDB. Never watched the soap opera but the condensed movie is pretty good if feeling a little speedy. The cinematography for this is exceptional--moody realistic lighting--never feels like there's an army of crew standing nearby with big arc lights (you glimpse them in a reflection when Thayer David goes to see John Karlen). And to think the estate shown in the film is in Tarrytown New York--near to the Headless Horseman's favorite haunt.

28 Weeks Later (2007) That helicopter vs. zombies scene is a work of art!
