Pretty good album from what I remember with the band members in solid form. Dancing Days, Over the Hills and Far Away, D'yer Mak'er, The Rain Song, The Song Remains the Same, etc. The only song I remember not caring much for is The Crunge.

My favorite LZ album, I think their songwriting was at their best on this one, such a diverse album (hard rock, blues, psychedelic, ballad, funk, and even some reggae). I know a lot of people hate "Crunge" but I actually think that one isn't bad either.

I thought it was their 2nd best album. Only the LZI being better. I thought it better than the two popular favorites, II and IV, maybe because it wasn't as overplayed as those two albums. If I had to name mt 10 favorite LZ songs, probably four would come from HOTH, The Ocean, The Rain Song, Dancing Days and D'yer Mak'er. My mother had a shitfit over the cover but she got over it.
"We done four already but now we're steady and then they went, one, two, three four..."

Dyer maker is worse than The Crunge. I will die on this hill. It seems like a bunch of people don't like either song. I like both of them a lot.

Oh, oh oh oh oh oh. Yeah, I gt that the "oh's" can be irritating, but it's a damn good tune. I love Bonzo's funky little drum lead in and Page's reggae guitar. Lyrics are dopey but that true of nearly every LZ tune

Great album. Love D'yer Mak'er. Hate the Crunge.
I like individual songs after this but not impressed with the albums.

Depressing when you reach the age that you bought these "50 years ago" albums when they first came out.
