All part of the plan. Acquire assets, draft superstars, trade for superstars. Piss off your superstars so theyβll demand a trade. Trade for assets.

All part of the plan. Acquire assets, draft superstars, trade for superstars. Piss off your superstars so theyβll demand a trade. Trade for assets. Literally every contract is an asset! Even if you trade Harden and Embiid for five cents on the dollar, you're getting something in return, and creating cap space and roster spots! Assets! Rinse, repeat! Thanks to the linear way we observe time, it will appear (to some pinheads) that the Process was responsible for the Sixers title in the year 2592! Harden was traded for Rey Kahuka who was traded for a headband that was traded for the #59 pick in the 2037 draft, who was waived to make space for that one dude from Algeria, and on and on and on for a few centuries until the Sixers signed the Martian Phenom, Bertreliquix Lairdiem. The rest is history.

Kyrie's the man. Hey ESPN, you forgot to sort the list. 'Kyrie upset with his role on the free agency list, demands to be traded to another list, preferably a list able to let him rest 50 games a season with title hopes.'

Jalen Rose and Jeff Van Gundy part of the ESPN blood letting, part 38. Jalen will probably land at The Ringer, at least part-time. Why does Reggie Miller still have a job though?

All part of the plan. Acquire assets, draft superstars, trade for superstars. Piss off your superstars so theyβll demand a trade. Trade for assets. This is oddly the only time of year I pay attention to the NBA. I like team building offseason stuff and it seems like the NBA is constantly filled with drama. What I find hard for fans to do anymore is be a fan of a specific team. It only takes a random mood swing for a player to want out and organizations just have to do it. I dont quite understand how the NBA salary caps work or what qualifies to reach max deals and what not. So it becomes a asset based thing. Either trade and get 50 cents on the dollar or potentially get nothing. At least in the NFL you get extra draft picks for losing free agents. Say what you want about LeBron but at least everywhere he has gone he has gotten them a Championship. Meanwhile guys like Harden just jump around never winning anything yet people still want him as an asset? I just don't see how anyone trying to get into the NBA today could convince themselves to be a fan of a single team instead of following one player around wherever they go.

How pissed is Luka that they kept that asshole Kyrie? They went from 4th place to 11th after bringing him on board. They must've felt like they had to keep him, otherwise they gave away all those assets for nothing. Meanwhile they risk alienating their franchise player by keeping this kook on the roster. It was a gamble, it didn't work, bite the bullet and move on.

VanVleet three-year, $130 million contract with the Houston Rockets Highest paid undrafted player in NBA history. It's good, Raptors I think were offering $140/4 years or something. I think the Raptors vibes are on the right path away from the super serious Nick Nurse & VanVleet. Siakam wants to stay here, threatening no extensions for anyone who trades for him. Poetl here another 4yrs is great, pass-first centre. I think Toronto should be aiming 5th-6th in the East as credible benchmark this season - don't fret about being the best, & try to avoid the play-in chaos.
