the first feature film adaptation of the X-Files TV show. I watched it before I watched any of the show and it made me want to start watching. While the movie explains nothing the chemistry between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, some creepy atmosphere, and great effects make it work even for those with no familiarity with the show  |

It's basically a 2-part episode of the TV show with a bigger budget that got a theatrical release. I watched it at the cinema when it was released.
It is a decent enough movie, but it would be one of the lesser episodes if it was released as a 2-part episode on TV.
I have always been more of a fan of the one-off episodes than the overarching conspiracy plot.

I am surprised we don’t get more movies based on popular tv shows while they are still running. I feel if some shows made their series finale a movie they could bring in some big bucks
