I thought of this because I decided to watch The Blind Side again. Worth a rewatch for sure
What's you favorite movie about an athlete, or sports in general?

Thanks moviebuffbrad, that's a classic I've never seen! Time to put it on the list Actually my next question was going to be 'best fight in a movie' I think you covered both basis.

Actually, the fights in Raging Bull are pretty raw and ugly. For best fights, I'd probably turn to Asia. The hallway scene in Oldboy, Tony Jaa's one take in The Protector, and pretty much the entirety of The Raid come to mind.

Yeah, Raging Bull is a classic. But if you want something a little more pleasant to watch, Vision Quest (1985) is great.

I couldn’t agree more about those movies making for good rewatches. Vision Quest is available for free on Tubi right now, by the way.

Raging Bull
I am not really big on movies about athletes besides boxing movies. There are plenty of movies about athletes I like, but the only ones that are among my favorites are boxing movies.

I like Raging Bull and Remember the Titans.
Also the first Major League.
"Wild Thing, I think I love you." I watched this movie a lot when I was a teenager. The sequels are not very good though. Making the 2nd PG-13 and not getting Snipes back really took the bite out of the comedy. The ensemble of the first movie is fantastic and that is really the strength of the movie - the character interactions.

In fact I liked it, but Major League is much better. I liked the more serious tone of it and how that let the comedy in it feel funnier.
Having watched them in reverse order I did not yet understand at all how Omar Epps became Wesley Snipes.
The third one I only watched once and don't remember at all past a certain point.

I am VERY VERY picky when it comes to comedy. I really disliked ML2, but then again I only saw it once and that is when I was 13. I was already a fan of Major League by that time and already a fan of R-rated comedies. Part 2 felt stale even when I was 13.
