Frederic Forrest has died at the age of 86. Forrest was a member of filmmaker Francis Coppola's stock company.
Thanks for the movies, Mr. Forrest, and for all the great memories.

He was an exceptional talent and a wonderful man. Rest in peace, dear Freddie. I will miss and remember you forever. As Bette Midler tweeted: "The great and beloved Frederic Forrest has died. Thank you to all of his fans and friends for all their support these last few months. He was a remarkable actor, and a brilliant human being, and I was lucky to have him in my life. He was at peace.” Hollywood ReporterFrederic Forrest 1936-2023

A fine actor who has appeared in many well-known movies.
Great performances in these two movies that really stand out:
Larry - A 1974 made-for-TV movie in which he played a man wrong confined in a mental institution. Falling Down - As the neo-Nazi lunatic who owns a surplus store. Probably one of his all-time best performances.

I first noticed him in The Don is Dead (which I had only seen about 10 years ago) --and had no idea he was the guy in Falling Down.

I envy you that. In addition to those petrolino posted ( The Conversation, Apocalypse Now, and One from the Heart) here are a few more you should consider (not all great films, but he's always great).
His Oscar nominated performance in The Rose (1979), with Bette Midler.
As Hammett (1982), with Marilu Henner, whom he later married.
When the Legends Die (1972)
And a wonderful tv movie with Ann-Margret, Who Will Love My Children? (1983).

Yes I have seen those two but I don't remember him in it, that's what I meant. Excluding Falling Down--he pretty much steals the movie from Duvall and Douglas IMO--his character stands out so much, but it was The Don Is Dead where I thought--who is this guy? And then I learned he was in Falling Down and I was surprised it was the same guy. I did wonder what happened to him after The Don is Dead but I see he did a lot of stuff just not on my radar.
