Final chapter? Yeah, okay. Crispin Glover’s dancing should immediately land this on the national film registry. He ain’t no dead fuck, either. Jason really delivers on his reputation here. Teens smoking grass and having premarital sex? Not on his watch. Some of the best kills this series has to offer. I particularly like the face crushing in the shower.  |

Easily my favorite of the franchise. It took the formula of the first three (so basically nubile teens getting baked, naked, and raked) and cranked it up to 11. Somehow it skirted by with the MPAA, perhaps because they actually thought it was the last one. I think Savini did and that's how they got him back, and this is some of his best work next to The Prowler from the same director.
Another point in its favor is the cast, who are enjoyable even when Jason isn't smashing heir heads. Besides Crispin, you also got Corey Feldman and the guy from The Last American Virgin.

My third favourite of the series as it has one of the best casts of characters and the kills are incredible. Not a lot to say that hasn't already been said.

It's the most memorable of the franchise for me simply because this girl was almost a dead ringer for an ex-girlfriend. Seeing her take an axe in the chest from Jason was unsettling.

It's the most memorable of the franchise for me simply because this girl was almost a dead ringer for an ex-girlfriend. Seeing her take an axe in the chest from Jason was unsettling. Interesting. On a similar note, the Final Girl from Part 3 resembles a girl I had a thing with in college 20 years ago. Makes the whole thing feel more relatable. |

I need to re-watch it someday. I didn't much care for it when I last saw it. The series was starting to feel repetitive for me by this stage. Thank goodness for Jason Lives, which really brought new life into the franchise.

I still prefer I-III at the lake where we're still in Jason's character development, for what it is.
