Don't know how many of you are familiar with Pampered Chef, but I recently was invited to an online party. I really didn't need anymore baking pans, etc. as my sister in law use to sell it and I got many things from her and mother in law for birthdays and Christmas. Anyway, I saw a little ice cream maker and thought it was the perfect size for two people. It was a little more than I really wanted to spend, but the host was a good friend, so I bought it at her party. It's really easy to use and clean. You put the bottom half in the freezer for a least 24 hours and then attach the top w/the paddle and plug it in. You push the power button and the timer, usually about 30 minutes. Then pour the mixture into the hole on top while it's running so the mixture doesn't freeze to the bottom and sides first. The mixture is just 2 cups of whipping cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 1/2 cup of sugar and a tsp. of vanilla. It's like soft serve ice cream when it's done, but you can put it into a container in your freezer to make it more solid. So far, I've made vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and peach. The peach is my favorite so far. Two fresh, ripe peaches mashed and added to the mixture. It was well worth the money, especially as hot as it has been here. Not too much sugar for us either!
We have an old electric ice cream maker, but for just the two of us, it made too much. Wasn't as good after it had been put in the refrigerator freezer.
