This is sad, I always liked Arleen. She was a vibrant actress.
I had no idea she inspired Harley Quinn from her Days performance, that is pretty cool.

Not only inspired, but was the original voice on Batman the Animated Series, which is where the character originated. I was hoping to find something from John de Lancie, but he hasn't posted anything on social media for a while.

Truly sad to hear about Arleen. She was so sweet and endearing as Caliope and had such great comedic talent. No wonder they created Harley Quinn around her. I was always holding out hope that she’d make more Days appearances with Anna.

I saw Kaley Cuoco posted something about Arleen as Kaley does the voice for Harley Quinn in some animated series now. I was reading all about it and there have been a lot of series and appearances of Harley Quinn played by many different actresses and voices over the years, I had no idea. I only became aware of this character when Margot Robbie played her.
I had always hoped we would see Calliope again on Days...and Eugene, since Sami is named after him and all.

Thanks for sharing these awesome memories from John De Lancie. It’s nice to see that he has such fond memories of DOOL. I thought he wasn’t fond of those Days since he never returned to the show for any special appearances with Arleen. They really added a lot of laughs and heart to the show. It was when the show was at its best.

I think he's a very "craft" driven character = What is the story I'm telling? Is it worth tell? How do I tell it? - sort of thing. He was reluctant to return to Star Trek once he clearly looked older than his hay day as Q; until someone invariably pointed out that Q could literally appear however old he wanted to, which always seemed obvious to me (same with Data). I think however much nostalgia he might have for Days, or at least the people he worked with, he may not, to date, think there's enough of an acting challenge to make a return worth his while.

Well, let’s face it, the show has really gone downhill drastically over the last twenty years. It’s such a shame that this genre has basically disappeared. To think the networks used to air around a dozen soaps a day back in the 80s and 90s and now there’s only 4 left. At least I’m grateful the show is still alive and I think there’s still a lot of dedication to the show it once was. But, with a shoestring budget you can only do so much.

I think given the budget restraints Days does well. I still can't stand the lack of set variety and recycled walls or the fact that they never do anything just talk about doing things. But they do have a talented cast.
