When I married WKD in 1985, I was 5'2", 10 years ago I was 5', now I'm 4'11' !!! Am I the Incredible Shrinking Woman? I guess this comes from not being able to drink milk after I was 15. Anyone else on this board shrinking? Part of my feet are shrinking too, not the toes but the rest of the foot, my shoe size has not changed but my toes look a lot longer (WKD noticed this).

WKM, you ARE incredible, in many ways ... but, I don't think it applies in the age-height-continuum.
In the mid 80's, I was teaching an aerobics program. Our acceptable weight was strictly calculated by bare-foot height. I was 5'3", on-the-hair. This was good, as any fraction of an inch, was decreased to the lower number.
I'm just a bit over 5', now. And, I take in milk and dairy. (I don't know if cows get shorter, with age.)
Each order of the jeans that I live in, requires increased hemming. Trying to look on the bright side, I consider that it hones my sewing skills.

I know you're supposed to lose an inch every decade after age 40, or starting with age 40, I can't remember, but I seem to be right where I've been at 5'11, and I'm almost 70.
I think it possibly affects women more. My father's aunt and my sister really shrunk.

Lol, my mum used to think either she was shrinking or I was getting taller. She was 5'2 as well-I'm 5'8 1/2 and was the shortest in my family except for 1 brother who was 5'7 1/2-my other 5 were all over 5'10". The 3 left I swear are shrinking because it always looks as though I am the same height(I no longer wear heels). But then again all the next gen in our family are over 6', and I swear I'm shrinking next to them. Mind you they are all in their 30"s. So no one should still be growing...at least not in height
