"Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is zeroing in on Nolan. I was told there were discussions with the filmmaker to helm the film, but no deal has been struck just yet, and the strike, not to mention Nolan promoting “Oppenheimer,” further delayed talks. The main issue right now seems to be the amount of creative freedom Nolan wants for the film. Broccoli’s backups, currently, seem to be Danny Boyle, Denis Villeneuve, and Paul Greengrass. There were also rumors of Matthew Vaughn being in contention, but my source tells me he hasn’t heard his name mentioned at all. Broccoli rarely gives carte blanche to her filmmakers, there’s usually a blueprint in how to make a Bond film, but Nolan wants to take over the entire process, which is understandable because, you know, he’s Christopher Nolan. The deal being negotiated would be for two Bond films directed by Nolan, who would also be writing the script. Still no word yet on who the actor playing Bond would be, but some encouraging signs are pointing towards Aaron Taylor-Johnson taking over the role." www.worldofreel.com/blog/2023/9/7/mi8wysplfielbboojrpgho116hkkp0

I don't think it will happen, but that's just my opinion.

Is Martin Campbell not available? He directed Goldeneye and Casino Royale.

According to the producer, Barbara Broccoli, the next set of Bond films will expand into a sensitive Bond because times and men are changing, “It’s an evolution,” she says. “Bond is evolving just as men are evolving. I don’t know who’s evolving at a fast pace. Craig, she adds, “cracked Bond open emotionally,” bringing audiences into the character’s inner life. “The films over his tenure were the first time we connected the emotional arc.”

The opening credit sequence should just be an unbroken closeup of Bond sobbing like Timothee Chalemet at the end of Call Me By Your Name.

I don't want him to direct a Bond movie, but I wouldn't be hugely surprised if he did. There is a recent video I watched where he was being asked questions and when the questioner asked him if he would ever direct a Star Wars movie, he didn't say no, he just said pass. If he isn't entirely opposed to directing a Star Wars movie than I don't think he would be opposed to directing a Bond movie.

He repurposed Luscious Fox into Q, and the snow level scenes in Inception are very OHMSS.

That was what I meant about "if he isn't opposed necessarily to directing a Star Wars movie then he wouldn't be opposed to directing a Bond movie." I guess I was just assuming his love of James Bond was common knowledge. Tenet it very inspired by James Bond.

Just give him the creative freedom he wants. Nolan is a Bond fan, he knows what Bond films should be - he’s not gonna go insane with non-linear flashforwards and 4D black and white upside-down action sequences. He’ll shake up the formula just enough to keep it interesting.
