Has anyone else seen this? It's kind of an engaging premise, but it's ultimately kind of bland and average.
The idea is that it's basically a wordless, dialogue free experiential piece with a lead character who is dealing with some shit, and them has to also deal with a home invasion by alien.
The silent movie approach works at times, but the character driven element feels a little cliché and the aliens and spaceships look very CGI. This is clearly a lower budget movie, but the effects are quite ambitious, and probably too much sp for the movie's own good. A little less of creature om screen would have helped.
And then the story goes to weird places and the ending is a bit confusing and lane. The objective of the aliens and what they do is very much like every other alien horror movie and it all feels like a somewhat novel approach to dealing with a lot of the same stuff we've seen many times before.
It wasn't actually bad and it was easy viewing for 90-ish mins, but it didn't feel like a fully formed piece, and the skill of the filmmakers didn't seem up to the task they were trying to tackle.
What's-her-face is a good actress though and carries it further than someone else may have.

I think it sounds a lot better on paper than it is interesting to watch. Maybe would've been better as a short.

It was ok but I didn't like the ending and parts were a bit too contrived.

The aliens could have been more creative but I like the gimmick of the script having little to no dialogue. As masterofallgoons hinted, it does feel like an extended short film. Kaitlyn Dever is really good as well.
