I was away for a few days so I haven't watched since mid-last week but now we see Gwen as Theresa and the introduction of teen Holly and Tate...
I'm still not sure about Gwen/Theresa...

For some reason this background music feel like something out of a promo for a Hallmark movie... 😏
Sorry I don't have anything else to say. Not watching, I don't have a horse in the race. I'm over the degree to which they've aged a lot of these kids. Like, seriously, Theresa's got a kid in his late teens/early 20s...? Come on. I mean, yeah, technically Jen Lilley is old enough to have a teenager without too much of a stretch, but it still feels like too much of an exaggeration. They keep glossing over these characters existing until they can just reintroduce them closer to adulthood and it's like, what's the point? Just create new characters then and do whatever the hell you want.

I believe that Tate and Holly are supposed to be about 15 years old now which isn’t the greatest stretch compared to others. The only ones that really come close to where they should be are Will, Alex, and somewhat close is Shawn Douglas. However, I think all the soaps do this. Anyway, I think Days has been pretty decent since moving to Peacock. It’s still done on a shoestring budget but the pacing is much better and some attempts on more sets have taken place.

The pacing is much better the last few months, that is for sure. They actually changed days in the middle of the episode the other day which I don't really ever recall in recent years.
I thought it was clever the way Gwen left and Theresa returned with EOB in both roles. EOB's accent is good, but the wig sucks and I am not sure just yet. She's definitely very different than Gwen, and her scenes with Brady were fun.
I agree Tate feels too old. He's under 18, maybe 15 or 16, but he looks older, the kid playing him is tall, as tall as Eric Martsolf. Thankfully EOB looks a little older than Jen Lilley so perhaps that helps in making it believable that Tate is the age he is.

Anyway, I think Days has been pretty decent since moving to Peacock. It’s still done on a shoestring budget but the pacing is much better and some attempts on more sets have taken place. Tate would be like 8 or 9 now if aged in real time. Holly would be 7. Admittedly, I had to look up when they were originally born, but I knew it wasn't that long ago. EJ's was admittedly the worst from a canonical standpoint, just because there's no way to make that make sense how he can fit into John's story, where Kristen tried passing him off as John's son. But at this point they'd be better off retconning Stacy's Kristen as like, the original Kristen's daughter or something - not that Stacey is that much younger than Eileen, but if they're going to her to Brady she might as well be a outright de-aged while they're at it. I was never a fan of SORAS. I glossed over Belle, Philip, Shawn and Brady being aged probably because it was just before I started watching the show consistently as an adult; so I knew conceptually they had been younger, but I wasn't invested enough to care. It bugged me a little when they aged Will, but I got over it. Hate them aging Claire, especially given Belle and Shawn's ages, to say nothing of Bo and Hope's ages relative to all that; it was too much. But it was aging Allie and making her pregnant that broke the camels back for me. I had taken a break from watching around that time and was just starting watch again; and I nope'd right back out. Honest to God, when I saw they were teasing Holly and Tate as a couple I had to seriously think for a second if they were related. So hard to keep track of these bloodlines. These two may surprisingly be one of the least complicated dynamics, if albeit looking past the relationship between Nicole and Brady....

I found it strange that Tate has no idea who Holly is. Pretty sure Brady and Nicole were a couple when Holly was around, and therefore Tate would have known who she was at least in passing even if he was out of state. Brady did visit him a lot and talk to him.
Tate says he hasn't been in Salem for a while but he knows where everything is...but doesn't know Nicole or Holly...
Anyway, Holly shot down Tate's advances toward her already because she said she is in love with someone else...and that someone else is Johnny lololololol
The actress playing Holly is very pretty.
They are not related but there are connections. Holly's father is Daniel, who grew up with Brady allegedly since he was Victor's godson. Maggie is Holly's grandma, Brady's sponsor...Tate is connected to the Blacks/Bradys/Donovans/Kiriakises...so they are not related but definitely in the orbit of family friends.
Belle and Shawn not being related is always the one I struggle to wrap my head around because they share a lot of blood relatives - literally all of Belle's siblings are Shawn's first cousins lol Belle's brother and husband have the same grandpa...
Switching topics slightly, do we think Theresa forged the letter making Alex Victor's son??? Sure looking like that...

I still wish it would have been Justin.

I still wish it would have been Justin. Yeah, I guess Xander makes about as much as sense as Justin, given the dynamic Xander and Victor have had. And all things considered, they might get more mileage out making Xander Victor's son, if they do it right. I imagine they might be positioning him to be heir apparent, not just by blood, but maybe as a character in the Victor mold; which I don't think they'd ever really do with Justin.

I’m glad it’s Xander and not Alex. Xander is so much more like Victor and willing to do whatever need be to get the job done and get ahead. At the same time, he wants an honest and good woman in his life just like Victor did with Maggie. Paul Telfer is so infectious as Xander and I think makes sense to be Victor’s Son.

I agree I much prefer Xander over Alex as the son. I find RSW is much better as Alex, but he's still too Zoolander/squinty/modelly for me that I struggle to take him seriously. He was so smug when talking to Brady this week.
