The closest Best Buy to me still has quite a few. The next closest to me…not so much. I wonder if video games will follow suit. That selection isn’t exactly thriving either.

I think I’m the only person in my department where I work that still has a DVD player. When I mention it, people look at me like someone who still churns their own butter. I hope, someday, DVDs will have a kind of hip resurgence like vinyl LPs are having now. Then people like us will be the cool ones.

I was going to say, who ever thought actual RECORDS would make a comeback?

That sucks. The Best Buy equivalent in my country is still going with theirs, but I heard a rumour that they're planning to get rid of them at some stage too. That will be a very sad day.

Talking to younger people about watching movies and finding out that they don't have a DVD player.
I must have spent thousands of dollars on DVDs and Blu-Rays at Best Buy starting in 2001.

I don't care if people think its strange. I will keep buying DVDs and Blu-ray until they stop making them. I only buy online, as the only store that sells DVDs and blu-rays is about 5 hours away from me with car.

The only way you truly “own” a film is if you have it physically so I’ll continue to buy most of the films II watch. I do stream stuff I know I’ll never have any intention to watch again though. Mostly stuff my kids want to watch.

I find it weird when people talk about their favorite movies and then say something like: Oh, I love The Silence Of The Lambs, but haven't seen it for ages, because it's not on Netflix."
How can you pretend, you love a movie, if you can't even bother to buy a physical copy of it?
