In a development that surprises nobody in this crock of a league, a bench player who averages 5.2 PPG for his career dropped 50 points last night for the shitass Pistons. And I'm supposed to be impressed when Luka or Embiid score 70.

He's trash, but I wonder if anyone has the balls to draft him in the lottery, just to force LeBron to force the Lakers to trade an arm and a leg for him. That would be hilarious, and you better believe LeBron would do it.

This is hilarious. Over 100 NBA Players Reveal Their Pick for the Basketball GOATMichael Jordan 45.9% Lebron James 42.1% No surprises there. Kobe Bryant 9.8% Kobe is probably just outside my top ten, but recency bias and dying young definitely have an impact on your legacy. Here's where it gets truly ridiculous. Stephen Curry 0.8% Magic Johnson 0.8% Paul Pierce 0.8% Magic Johnson is in the conversation for GOAT, and a top five player of all time at worst. Those other two guys don't belong in the same sentence with Magic Johnson or the word GOAT, and I'm the world's biggest Paul Pierce fan other than Pierce himself. In fact, I'm assuming it was Pierce who voted 'Paul Pierce.' On that note it's amusing and so very on-brand for Lebron to openly make the case for himself as the GOAT. If Lebron had played in the 80s or 90s, Jordan would've eaten him alive. For the record, Paul Pierce is ten times the basketball player Curry is. Curry is a better shooter, that's it. The splash brothers are role players in any other era in league history.

Soo... is LeBron's in-season championship the last great American basketball triumph for awhile? 2024 is shaping up to be Joker's to lose... SGA, Luka, Wemby at the Olympics - maybe Steph, LeBron, & KD will symbolically lose the gold.

It's mostly just empty arguments simply to sell clicks/subscriptions anyway. Which also means it'll never end... it's the microtransactions of sports media.

There seems to be prevailing agreement now that Michael Jordan is the GOAT player, & LeBron can be recognized for a GOAT career. I'm not fully opposed, yet I still have MJ's career ahead of LBJ's - dominating every HOF in his path, 3-peat, minor league baseball vacation, return for 72 wins & another 3-peat. Longevity is overrated imo.

Every single one of those guys was better than Curry. Curry and Pierce being mentioned (though the Pierce thing had to have been someone having fun at his expense) is beyond laughable for GOAT. And yes, longevity is overrated when you're an irrelevant player. Vince Carter played for a million years, I don't see him in this conversation. Keep putting up those empty stats in a wide open league for a team going nowhere, Lebron.

I wonder, if younger man South Beach LeBron had played with the tenacity as old Laker man LeBron, maybe he'd be viewed differently? The Mavs have their title in small part because he wasn't superb enough yes? Hell, maybe in another universe, guy pries DWade from Miami, & ppl join LeBron's team in The Land (why is it called that) & he looks more like a godfather than a not-4-not-5-not-6! cheerleader.
Anyways, he'll probably join the Mavs this summer, & if Luka & Kyrie run it out for him, that'd be 4 titles with 4 franchises for the NBA's career stats leader in a lot of stuff. That's probably his best available landing place in the west, who'd actually take him. Going back to the Cavs or Heat would seem desperate... & yet, why not have summer 2024 KD back to the Warriors also.

He needs someone to carry him (always has, but especially now). Your Dallas prediction makes sense on that front. I think he's become too big a Hollywood player to leave LA at this point. He'll be content to play out the string another season or two, putting up empty stats. So, can anyone tell me what 'Heat Culture' is? I mean besides fouling 8 times for every one time it's actually called, and the occasional deliberate dirty play? This is clearly the way Spoelstra coaches the team, because the personnel may change, but the MO remains the same. But yeah, 'Heat Culture.' Mail in the regular season, get competitive in the playoffs (well, not this year) and make a fluke run deep into the playoffs every once in a while, without winning a title. Over the last ten years, that describes like 25 teams in the league. Heat Culture. Ok.

If the Sixers ditched Embiid & put LeBron in the post, that'd be a thing. I like Maxey, an all-timer in the love-the-player-hate-the-team cat.

Tobias Harris 0 points.
The MVP chants for Embiid at the line made me laugh out loud. All the Knicks had to do was cease doubling him, & they curb stomped back to the victory. MVP's don't get more space & tank it.
Jalen Brunson is officially now a star, & an all-time villain for Philadelphia - congrats.
