Ohtani 0-3 with 2 Ks was must see TV. Next time I go to a game and something like that happens, I'm going to file a lawsuit in small claims court seeking the return of my ticket price. It'll be a good precedent to set. I know the Browns fans tried something like that a decade ago which went nowhere, but some fancy legal double-talk and the right timing is all we need!

Hey, even Ted Williams was unsuccessful 60% of the time.

What guys in baseball, or otherwise, spent their entire career with 1 team except for 1 year in the middle?
Manny Sanguillen began and ended his career with the Pirates, but had 1 year in Oakland.

ESPN re Betts playing SS this year: "Only one player in Major League history has played 100 games at shortstop after winning a Gold Glove as an outfielder."
Then they leave us hanging.

I looked through the lists of GG winners and knew who it was when I see the name. Not a household name from the 60's
Spoiler Below
Tom Tresh

Mine was in jest. Baines was the best DH never to have won a Cy Young.

Not a household name from the 60's Spoiler Below Oh, wow. Never would have thought he did that. If I remember, the Yanks put Tresh at SS because Roy White took over LF and they wanted to keep him in the lineup. And SS was a black hole after Tony Kubek quit.
I always loved reading about the late 60's - early 70's Yankees, the Horace Clarke Era. Those teams had a lot of players with talent. Joe Pepitone, Roy White, Thurman Munson, Bobby Murcer. Very good pitching, Mel Stottlemyre, Fritz Petersen, Stan Bahnsen, Al Downing. But the AL caught up to them. games against the Orioles, Twins, Red Sox, A's were no longer gimmes. The guy I really felt bad for is Stottlemyre. He pitched 10 years or the Yanks, got three WS games. He pitches 10 years in another 10 year of Yankee history, he's a HOFer. He won 169 games for teams that were rarely above .500. He pitched from 1927-1937, He would end up with over 200 wins (he had 167) and a gaudy w/l percentage. Same thing with Mattingly, 20 years later

Charlie Silvera has twice as many WS rings as Mickey Cochrane. "Indian" Bob Johnson, averaged 25 HR,s 112 RBI, .296 BA and 186 hits a season. No one has heard of him because he played for the shitty A's on the 30's. put him in LF with DiMaggio in CF and Twinkletoes Selkirk or Tommy Henrich in RF and he's in Cooperstown
