I'm really not very familiar with Fear Street. I know those books had their fans, but I never engaged with them.
I thought the movies were okay. Even calling them movies is a little odd because it was clearly a miniseries. I found them completely unconvincing at evoking their time periods (particularly the 1600s setting), and didn't care much about the characters or the overarching story too much. It was fine, but entirely forgettable.
But evidently other people really went for it.

They definitely upped the Gore and sex/nudity on the Netflix batch. The books had gore and violence of course. But it was pretty much always PG-13 when it came to characters making out. That's as far as it went. And no Gay or Lesbian characters either.
Most of the books took place in the 90's in Ohio. (R.L. Stine is from Ohio which is where I'm originally from.) There are the "Kataluna Chronicles" which involved time travel. Back to the original Fear Family that settled. And had an Amusement Park. Of course the Family and town are Cursed.

I've never had any rodent ass. I didn't realize it tasted of vanilla. Will have to give a try.

I never would have guessed you were referencing a real thing that made any sense. If anything, I thought maybe it was sexual reference, but that didn't make much sense either. This is quite the bit o' trivia.
