According to the rumors, Sam Raimi is Marvel’s top choice for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, and it’s now been confirmed that the writer for Multiverse of Madness has signed on for both films.
Question is, what do people think of that? Is that a good idea?

Eh, I'd like to see what he'd do with a D+ miniseries or Feature first.

I guess if the Russos (or obviously Whedon) aren't coming back, why not.

I am more concerned about the quality of the writing than the directing to be honest, I know Raimi is a skilled filmmaker, but the screenwriter for both of the next Avengers installments leaves much to be desired - Multiverse of Madness feels very first-draft in its writing, and someone else took over Loki so he didn't stay on for very long.

I love Raimi. (User name checks out!) But the Avengers movies are tightly controlled and probably not going to allow much creative control for the director. They should give him Dr Strange 3 and Midnight Suns instead and let my boy cook.

This is kind of like hiring Gordon Ramsay to flip burgers in McDonald's.

This is kind of like hiring Gordon Ramsay to flip burgers in McDonald's. Eh. I think Sam Raimi is more or less a journeyman director nowadays, albeit not to the extent of the Russo Brothers or Jon Watts.
