Texas is favored by 4 over Washington, possibly because they are 500 miles from New Orleans while Washington is 2500 miles away
Michigan is a 1 point favorite over Alabama.
Meanwhile Georgia is 14 over Florida State. The Committee approves

I can't decide who I want to lose that game more, Alabama or Michigan. The upside is I won't be watching.
I have to get to the Fenway Bowl one of these years.

The college-football-game-at-MLB-stadium thing has certainly become popular: Fenway Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, October midwest games at Wrigley. The Holiday Bowl in San Diego is continuing to use Petco as the stadium, even though there is a brand-spanking new football stadium in the city.

I'll say...
Rose - Alabama Sugar - Washington CFP - Alabama
Cotton - Ohio State Peach - Ole Miss Orange - Georgia Fiesta - Oregon

From the weekend:
New Mexico Bowl, Fresno State 37, New Mexico State 10. NMSU coach Jerry Kill claimed that UNM athletic director Eddie Nunez tried to deny NMSU use of its indoor practice facility as revenge for Aggies QB Diego Pavia urinating on the Lobosβ logo in the facility this year. In his postgame news conference, Kill was not pleased: βIf I get in trouble, I donβt give a sβ. I can go down to Mexico tomorrow, drink margaritas and let you all enjoy your life. But Iβve got class.β NMSU ultimately got to practice in the indoor facility.

The Alamo Bowl was entertaining, Arizona could be a team to watch in the Big 12 next year. Boston College pulled a surprising upset in the Fenway Bowl, but I don't really see them as a program on the rise.

I watched a half of the Cotton Bowl last night, Missouri v. Ohio State
The Paint Drying Championship of Luxembourg was more entertaining. The Suckeyes had nothing without Ryan McCord and Marvin Harrison
One thing the expanded playoff will help is with the draft prospects sitting out the bowl games. I don't blame them but it does take away from the bowls.

It was a bit surprising how little depth Ohio State had last night. Is Ryan Day's job in jeopardy?

It was a bit surprising how little depth Ohio State had last night. Is Ryan Day's job in jeopardy? Not likely, I'd say the bowl game iconography proper is on thinner ice though. Marquee winning programs playing bowl games like spring scrimmages aren't the greatest. Tonight's Orange Bowl could get silly if Georgia starts quick & runs it up on FSU backups. Expanded playoffs will give 2023 a bye for all this stuff, for the most prominent teams I mean. I think Penn State has a more near must-win... it's fine enough they can't beat Michigan or Ohio State, yet if they're not challenging everyone else, there's no excuses.

The NCAA has to do something about the transfer portal. It has a lot to do with what's happening in the bowl games. Former Texas Longhorns quarterback Maalik Murphy, who actually started a few games this year, transfers to Duke before the NCAA playoffs. What's with that? Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Penn St. vs Ole Miss. I'm giving the edge to Ole Miss.

Another yuck season from mightily hyped Penn State. It would lift my spirits if the school ate James Franklin's contract and showed him the door. They won't
Georgia pounding the crap out of poor, ignored Florida State. Will they cry about this too?

Georgia 56 Florida State 3 4th quarter coming up I wonder if Florida State is still going to whine about the playoff committee?
They did have a case. So did Georgia. #1 all year, a FG try off the upright away from a possible win over Alabama and the #1 seed. Two teams were bound to get fucked over.

I don't blame them but it does take away from the bowls. Yeah it was a slog fest for sure, but as a Mizzou fan that fourth quarter rocked, and was what our offense has been all season long. I don't care what the transfer and opt-out situation was for OSU, they still probably had better talent across the board than we did and we beat them in a NY6 game. I know there's a lot of SEC hate on this board (not entirely unwarranted), but our motto says it all: It Just Means More.

4th string RB (21 rushes all season)
6th string RB (6 rushes all season) 3rd WR (but 7th in receptions with 12 all season) 4th WR (but 9th in receptions with 7 all season)
20 regular season starters and backups did not play for FSU.

Georgia did its job. FSU lost nearly all its starters, what a weird season. I think Norvell is safe for another year so long as they win 10+ games.

Would Norvell be safe if Coach Prime had gone 10-2 or 11-1?
