Bogart plays an escaped convict and Bacall the dame who helps him. I am a fan of Noir movies but this one was just too far-fetched for me to be able to enjoy. The number and magnitude of the coincidences and contrivances in the plot is unbelievable.
On the positive side, we get to see San Francisco in the 1940s, which was nice.

I didn’t like it very much, I also thought it too far fetched. Much prefer To Have and have Not, and The Big asleep.

I like DARK PASSAGE. It might be everyone’s #4 but it’s still completely enjoyable. Plus my friend lives in the same apartment building where Lauren Bacall lived in the movie. It hasn’t changed a bit and it’s wonderful.
