American actor Drake Hogestyn (1953-2024) passed away on September 28th from pancreatic cancer. Drake spent the majority of his acting career on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives, having started in 1986, up until this year. He was first cast as a recast for Roman Brady, but several years later, the original actor returned, Wayne Northrop. By now, Hogestyn was too popular to let go so he was written to have been an amnesiac who had been brainwashed to believe he was Roman Brady. His new character of John Black wound up with Roman's wife, Marlena, in the long run.
