By Arnold standards, it’s gold. Memorable kills, one-liners, very 80s Harold Faltermeyer score, and Richard Dawson being another asshole on TV.
Now back to Climbing for Dollars!

There are only a few movies that are better, Star Wars, Terminator, Aliens. When do we get a tv series of the Running Man? We all want to bet on our favorite gladiator. And where do I get that home game. If it does come back it better have 80's music.

I never liked it, thought it was too cheesy. I'm glad their working on a version more faithful to the book, which is dark af

Never read the book, so I can't comment about how it works as an adaptation. On its own, it's fun but nothing special.

Never read the book, so I can't comment about how it works as an adaptation. On its own, it's fun but nothing special. Reading the plot synopsis on Wikipedia gives a sense of just how much it differs from the book. Example - Richards volunteers to ensure money for his wife and daughter, the game isn’t limited to 400 square blocks (he ends up in Boston at one point), and it ends with him flying a plane into the game show HQ.

I really don't like it. I'm glad they are working on a new version that will be closer to the actual book. Though I doubt they'll have the balls to keep the books ending. At the end, the protagonist flies a plane into a building.

I like the idea better than movie itself.

I like the idea better than movie itself. Which has improved upon in different movies and shows since, ie Battle Royale, Squid Game, and roughly half of The Hunger Games franchise.

It’s not a masterpiece but you got some awesome Arnie moments, Richard Dawson kills it as the host, and some eerie predictions of the future. Definitely a film I like and watch a lot
