You see a homeless person; he walks up to you and asks you for money for food. What do you do?...
Be honest; don't say what you should do, but what you actually do.

I don’t carry cash anymore, but I keep a few bills in my car for the ones holding cardboard signs on the street corners. I’ll give them a few dollars if I’m convinced they really need it. Otherwise, I just ignore them.

Otherwise, I just ignore them. Yeah, that's what most people do. A lot of homeless people are there for reasons such as mental health issues. Increasingly, many are homeless because of inflation and other reasons beyond their control. A lot of them are there because of addiction issues. A small handful are there because they have a big chip on their shoulder or are plain lazy and figure the world owes them something.

Meanwhile illegals get put up in hotels and get thousands of dollars of free food they just throw away. Strange the same amount of resources couldn't be found for the homeless.

Some people with the issues I mentioned are homeless, some aren't. I was trying to gauge how people react when they see a homeless person.

Given that a lot of them aren't homeless at all, my first reaction is to contemplate whether they are homeless or not. Either way, the ones who press and get all up in my face don't get jack squat from me.

I don't try to avoid them and I don't hate them, but whether or not I sympathize with them depends on whether or not I believe they actually need help.

On monday I left work with spare food in a carry bag looking for someone who’d need it. I was asked for money mins after, downtown. I asked the girl, are you hungry ? She looked at me just à few seconds and her reply was positive. I gave her the bag and lived my life on.

Well, it was the first occurrence for me. I gave money in the past.
