Yes folks, next year is when the sequel comes out. If you don't believe in miracles, then the fact that Mel Gibson still has a career should offer proof not that miracles exist, but that some people are incredibly lucky.
Will you go see it? Answer the poll.

Unless the sequel concerns the adventures of Paul Who Used To Be Known As Saul after having that brainstorm of his during a road trip, I can't imagine what this will be about. Unless Mel has now gone full-tilt Last Temptation of Christ, and it concerns the adventures of Mr. and Mrs. (nee Magdalene) J. Christ, after their marriage, honeymoon, and subsequent relocation to a cozy tract bungalow in Levittown, NJ.

I'm reminded of Family Guy's Passion of the Christ 2: Crucify This
Joking aside, I assume it's going to be an adaptation of Acts where each martyr's death will be shown in gratuitously gory detail.
I always found the whole torture porn approach for a Gospel adaptation weird, but I've been reading a lot of Simone Weil recently who was of the opinion the glory of the resurrection has historically undermined the suffering on the cross. So maybe she would have been a fan.

I probably won't watch in theaters but yes.
Mel Gibson is an excellent director and while I think The Passion is his weakest movie of those I've seen, I still enjoyed it.
