Wins are team accomplishments - they’ve both done a tremendous amount of winning, but that’s not what I’m referring to when talking about individuals. If we’re talking about their play as individuals, we’re essentially talking about stats and awards, yes. That's not what the graphic you posted earlier told me. It only listed QBs. That's the media narrative-fueled sports world we live in - you know I mean his team won when I posted that. Same for Brady. Winning is very important when we judge QB legacies, no doubt - but shifting the conversation to their play as "individuals" effectively means win totals are no longer as much of a factor, at least from my viewpoint.

I agree that it is, but I struggle with that some times as like I said, there is so much out of the QBs control. It's not basketball where you are 1 of 5 on the floor and you play offense and defense. You are 1 of 11 on the field, and then another 11 on defense, then another 11 on special teams, then all the subs for every unit. They would always say Manning vs Brady but the 2 were never even on the field at the same time. The example I always use is Elway and Marino. Both were considered the guys that couldn't win the big game. Elway took some pretty mediocre teams to SBs vs teams that were far superior. Then at the end of his career he got Terrell Davis and a good defense and he wins 2 rings. Marino never got Terrell Davis or a defense so he got none. Elway was a better player when they were losing SBs but was considered a winner after he got a lot more help.

He can, of course. Time is on his side. It's fun to speculate as well...
However...it's honestly a bit too early for a serious comparison.
Patty is like 60,000 passing yds, 430 pass tds and 5 superbowl wins behind Brady at this moment. He's got a ways to go before anyone should realistically put him in the same conversation.
Edit: I will add tho that part of the reason Im kind of hoping the Chiefs win this year is because this conversation will start. It's always fun to have someone chasing a legacy.

Anything is possible but I say no. Brady is one of a kind. Sure Mahomes looks great now, but let’s see what another 5 years does to him.

He’s not the Lemieux to Brady’s Gretzky. Not yet at least. Full disclosure - this is the only guy who approaches my Aaron Rodgers level of pure unfiltered hatred, so for now, fuck that Kermit sounding soccer player flopping crybaby bitch. I hope he breaks his leg on the first snap of the Super Bowl and then the cart bringing him off the field catches fire. I hope he gets cancer and aids and then his cancer gets aids forming a super hybrid canceraids.

3 titles in his first six starting seasons. He’s on track at least.
I can’t believe he won this year with this WR group - but it’s also comfortably the best defense he’s ever had.

This Chiefs team and Mahomes specifically reminded me more of Brady than ever. Control the game, stay close enough to always give yourself a chance (outside of the Atlanta Brady win), and at the end release the magic and close the coffin on your opponent. Certainly Mahomes' most impressive super bowl win - outside of Kelce, that offense is just absolute trash.

After losing to Vegas on Christmas, everybody had them out for this year. Went on the road to beat Buffalo and Baltimore and then SF for the ring.

Here's the thing - he's owning the SB stage for years now if he gets there. Like Tiger at Augusta, it's a home game now for him.
It will be up to an AFC team to knock them off before that stage... which is conceivable. Allen, Burrow, they're not scared of the Chiefs aura, they just need more polished team & coaching to help. Lamar.
Also, the NFC will need better coaching - someone smart enough to kill his mojo, like Parcells & Belichick did the Bills in 1991. It's not going to be enough to throw star players at them, the strategy will be key.

Definitely this playoff run was the most impressive but as far as individual Super Bowl games go, I'm inclined to go with last year. He was on one leg and the opposing QB had the game of his life. Mahomes had to be outstanding to beat the Eagles - and he was.

I'm curious. The sports shows and podcasts talk about how amazing it is to be a sports fan in the time of Mahomes and they speak to how likeable this Chiefs team is and can't comprehend how anybody could dislike Mahomes or Kelce etc.
My question is, outside of being a Chiefs fan who enjoys watching the same players/teams win over and over? Don't you get tired of it and turn to disliking and rooting for anybody but said players/teams?
I understand why the sports shows do it, they gotta talk as if every new thing is the best ever. They can't exactly complain about it. They don't represent the everyday fan. But the idea of them not comprehending a fan being sick of seeing the same teams win is dumbfounding.
So again, outside of being a fan of the team that is constantly winning who actually enjoys this?

That being said, I agree it gets boring watching the same teams win. I would've much preferred a Detroit vs Buffalo SB, or any teams that never make it. As a Dallas fan though they played Philly and SF the last 2 years so I had to root for them. Actually it was more rooting against Philly & SF. Same thing will now happen to them, and already has a bit especially with the Swift stuff, as all dynasties. They will be the team everyone other than KC fans want to see lose. Brady and the Pats were a great story when they won a few and then everybody got sick of them.

Looking back, I’m grateful I got to watch Tom Brady play too. To see dominance firsthand. I don’t find the Chiefs unlikeable just because they win a lot. That’s not enough of a reason to dislike a team in my view. If other teams don’t like it, beat them.

1st Super Bowl win: Yay! They finally did it!!!
2nd Super Bowl win: Okay, they won again, that's nice, now somebody else can have the spotlight
3rd Super Bowl win in five years: Man! Fuck these guys! This league is a joke! Nobody can stop them!!! It's ALL RIGGED TO SELL MERCH!!!
Kelce being a douche to Andy Reid on the sidelines and his dead end celebrity relationship that will be over in 5 years gets on peoples nerves who are here for football and not interested in this E channel celebrity gossip horseshit.
Also, just have to wait and see if that all this success goes to Mahomes head and he starts getting pissy and assing off when the day comes and he meets a team better than him in the Super Bowl
It's not good for a players ego to have so much success so early, so fast, for so long and then they hit the downswing of their career, and they don't like it one bit!

I feel like fans like to say they want different teams involved, but when it comes down to putting your money where your mouth is, fans still prefer the name-brands. People LOVE cinderellas in March Madness, unless they're in the Final Four - then the rating are horrible. Want good ratings? Sorry, have the Final Four be North Carolina, Kentucky, Duke, and Kansas. People will bitch about "it's the same teams every year!" and then still watch when those teams play, and not watch when it's teams that aren't there often. Same goes for the NFL. I'm guilty of it too, "I'm sick of the Chiefs!" I complain. But, when it comes down to it, the game is much more fun to have someone to root against, and offers infinitely more appeal than a superbowl of Baltimore vs Detroit would have offered. It would have been nice to see the teams make it, but I think the appeal, the talk, the general draw of the game is diminished when you don't have the same teams that are there every year. So again, if next year the Chiefs make it to ANOTHER superbowl, I'm sure I'll complain "My God I'm sick of the Chiefs" and then be way more drawn to the game to root against them than if they weren't there.

So again, if next year the Chiefs make it to ANOTHER superbowl, I'm sure I'll complain "My God I'm sick of the Chiefs" and then be way more drawn to the game to root against them than if they weren't there. See im the exact opposite. I root for the Cinderellas and good stories all the way through. If a team like Duke gets to the Finals I simply don't watch. Unless its my team in it then I watch regardless obviously. But if its a team I am sick and tied of hearing about being gushed over or they have players I can't stand I simply don't watch. I then also avoid the ESPNs of the world for like a week until they get the coverage over. I like it when other teams get coverage and we aren't focused so much on certain teams. Its why I hate the Cowboys. Not because they were good in the 90s (which was before my time as a fan) its because the networks like ESPN have to talk about them so much. I understand why they do it, I just hate it. There gets to be a point for me where a team or player gets oversaturated in the media. I listen to like 6 hours of podcasts a day most of which are sports related and I just can't listen to that many hours dedicated to 1 specific team or player unless its my own. One of the reasons I love draft coverage so much, its not completely focused on one specific team. It doesn't have to be Cowboys 24/7 or Yankees or Lakers whatever. Chiefs have reached that level now. I dont want to hear about how great Mahomes is. I know how great he is, im not denying that, he's probably already the best ever but I dont need to hear about it constantly. I also can't bother listening to anything Kelce related. Outside of criminals Travis Kelce is easily my most hated player in sports. Match that with my hatred of Taylor Swift and thats through the roof. I would have been incredibly excited had the Super Bowl been like the Bills vs Lions. I just knew how this Super Bowl was going to play out and wanted nothing to do with it. I just can't comprehend how any fan outside of being a fan of that team enjoys watching the same teams win every year. Sure you gotta beat them but that's completely out of our control. I put my money where my mouth is as you said, I just don't watch because there is zero enjoyment for me in it.
