I love this news if it's true. For one thing, just seeing them back together is very exciting. I'm looking forward to Ethan's solo movie, but we all want movies by the Coen brothers, not just one or the other. But also, the Coen bros doing a bloody horror movie does sound great. After all, they got started working with Sam Raimi and Evil Dead, and their first film, Blood Simple, is a dark, tense, neo-noir that's not far afield from horror. And of course there are brutal moments and things about Fargo, and No Country for Old Men could easily be thought of as horror, it's not far off. In some ways it functions largely as a slasher movie... in the same way that something like Cape Fear or Night of the Hunter could be argued as horror. And if you've seen Joel Coen's take on Macbeth, you've certainly seen a dark, bleak, brutal, and starkly violent near-horror film from A Coen brother as well. But yeah, they've worked on lots of stuff that never happened, both for themselves to direct, and as writing assignments for other directors or general studio gigs. But this is cool and exciting. I hope that will happen.
