Maybe your mileage on this movie depends on your tolerance of Adam Sandler in general. I find most of his comedies pretty annoying, but vehemently hate him the way that some do. But I found this movie to be especially terrible. And the Peter King cameo is a good example. ESPN and newspaper reporters came to cover this game that nobody could possibly care about outside of the walls of this place? They get professional uniforms? It's soooooooooooo stupid and goes against so many of the charms of the original. It's really only any good when it's copying the original directly, and even then it's just a pale imitation, at best. To me, his movies are hit or miss. Some I find funny, others are just stupid, and than others I won't even see based off of the trailer as they look colossally stupid. I feel the same way about Will Farrell movies. Yes, a ton of suspension of disbelief here. Burt Reynolds in his 70's scoring the td at then end for instance. And again, the original is a favorite of mine and this is nowhere near the original. But I did think it was a fun watch and much better than some of his other movies. I'll agree it's better than some other. Have you seen Jack and Jill? The contrarion in me would like to say it's actually not as bad as it looks, but it's truly one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Nope, that was one of the ones I mentioned in the category of the trailer looked so atrocious I wouldn't watch it at all! The Zohan one was also in that category, amongst a few others.

How the hell is that a B-? How is 4-13 a B-? It doesn't matter, he finally got shitcanned, and nobody else wanted his sorry ass, that says it all. In the meantime, the Patriots have bigger fish to fry. This isn't a good look for a team trying to rebuild through free agency this offseason. I think it's gonna be a long, long time.

Can't say they haven't tried. CMC, Henry, Zeke, Barkley, Lynch... there's just not enough tread on the tire to have more than 2-5 prime seasons. Even if there were a Thurman Thomas type for the draft, I'm not certain he'd even be a top 10 anymore, let alone which franchise today would feature him like an Adrian Peterson. I do love watching CMC play. Henry was a lot of fun to watch too. Broke a lot of long runs for a dude that big. And that legendary stiff arm. Where Dallas messed up was giving Zeke that 2nd deal. He was awesome his 1st few years where they just fed him the ball. I hate to say this as I love the position and played it all through childhood and in college, but the way it works now, I'd draft a stud pretty high, run him like crazy on his rookie deal, then never give him a 2nd contract. Then draft another one and rinse & repeat. Tampa Bay Rays to that magnificently with their pitching. Have everyone young throw their hardest stuff, keep making the playoffs... don't resign anyone, & big market teams stuck with injured 'star' pitchers.

I see maybe SF reached out for him to be DC, but he chose media for 2024 & money.

Ppl draft mocking the Patriots trading down & try a Harrison Jr.-Bo Nix combo path. I'm not onboard. Right now, I'd still rather have Jordan Love & revolving door of WRs at GB than Kirk Cousins-Jordan Jefferson combo. Josh Allen in division, the Jets finally realizing after 60yrs how valuable the position is, Miami at least recognizing the same... Maye or Daniels at the offering in their laps, can't squander that.

Clark Hunt is apparently the worst owner in football, and Nick Sirianni got an "A." I guess Big Dom was hanging around during these surveys? I thought this report card thing was a fun novelty last year, now I'm not so sure.

Some of the local media talking heads are suddenly attacking Robert Kraft as a terrible owner, and the public is starting to agree, at least if you listen to the callers. Mostly for being cheap, which I can't really argue. Brady was constantly taking pay cuts 'for the good of the team' while most of the time, the money was never spent to improve the roster. Meanwhile the Chiefs gave Mahomes a quarter of a billion dollars and they still won the Super Bowl. They're also attacking his record as owner of the Revs. That may be fair, but I'm sure the Patriots were his top priority, and six titles as an owner isn't bad. I still think Kraft is one of the better owners in the NFL, but I don't have a counter to the argument that he can be a cheapskate, and he benefitted greatly from drafting an all-time great by accident.

Basically the same, only he would've been richer. He would've been there just as long, if not longer-- depending on the length of his final contract.

College football fans - as you know, these kids that come in from the draft may as well have arrived from another dimension as far as I'm concerned. How good is Caleb Williams supposed to be? What's the expectation as a prospect - is he supposed to be a Luck/Lawrence type or a shade below? And as far as the questions about his character/personality that I'm seeing - are these legitimate concerns or overblown?

What's the expectation as a prospect - is he supposed to be a Luck/Lawrence type or a shade below? And as far as the questions about his character/personality that I'm seeing - are these legitimate concerns or overblown? He is viewed as an elite prospect in the line of a Luck. Can never say "can't miss" but he has a ceiling that is as high as anyone. He has all the tools of a modern day QB that teams are looking for. Has a big arm, can create out of structure, isn't a statue in the pocket. The character concerns should always be taken with a grain of salt at this time unless the guy has law breaking type concerns. We are in "lying season" which will have anonymous scouts giving concerns in hopes that a players stock will drop so they can draft him. He has no such concerns to my knowledge. Some want to criticize him for crying once after a loss. To me thats such a non issue. Such a stupid thing to try and grasp onto to find some sort of flaw. Does it change his talent? Does it carry a risk of him ever missing a game? Nope. Its literally just somebody looking to find a flaw when in reality to me its meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Caleb Williams is the first big time prospect in the era of NIL. He already has millions of dollars, drives a nice car, has a nice apartment overlooking Los Angeles. He is getting some criticism for not doing drills at the combine. The question you should ask is, why should he? He already knows he will be the #1 pick. Its just who makes the pick? He has nothing to gain by this process. The combine more often than not just drops players stock than raise it. Peter Schrager put it this way "Caleb Williams doesn't need the NFL. The Chicago Bears need him as they have never had an elite level QB." Outside of his dad becoming some massive clown level distraction like Lavar Ball I see nothing about him that sets off a red flag. His dad is part of his circle that wants whats best for him. He is part of this process. Thats nothing out of the norm and more common than we are lead to believe. Lamar Jackson has the same with his mom. Kevin Durant as well with his mom. Were those issues? Again, its only an issue because people are looking to find a flaw and create a mountain out of a mole hill.

R.I.P. Chris Mortensen at 72. Mortensen was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2016, but he returned to ESPN later that year after a leave of absence. He first appeared on ESPN in 1991 and made his final appearance during the network's coverage of the 2023 NFL Draft last April. Ahead of the 2023 NFL season, Mortenson announced that he would be stepping away "to focus on my health, family and faith." www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39647922/award-winning-nfl-reporter-chris-mortensen-dies-age-72

The combine is low-key one of the most boring and stupid times in the NFL calendar. I see some leviathan-sized OT got hurt running the 40-yard dash. Remind me why they felt it important to test an offensive tackle on how fast he can run in a straight line? All this combine stuff feels like it's run and promoted by Frogs. "Woo-hoo! Prospect just recorded the highest-ever vertical jump! Hall of Fame here he comes!!"

I think he loves playing QB, which isn't nothing.

Then in the post game interview he shouted out Mort who had just recently been diagnosed. Thought that was such a classy move. RIP Mort.

I personally love this title of year because I love the NFL Draft and offseason team building. That said, the combine is very misleading. Its mostly there so teams can interview and meet these players in person and get medical checks on guys who may have medical issues like a Penix or Latu. Certain drills are important for certain players. 40 yard is good for a WR/CB/RB. No Lineman is ever going to be running in a straight line in game. The 3 cone however if I remember correctly is important to judge an olineman agility to be quick on his feet and follow/react to a rusher. The broad jump I just don't understand why that is even tested for anyone? These drills tend to just drop players stock more than anything. Got a corner who was previously looked at as a day 1 pick? Runs a 4.6 forty? Kiss that goodbye. Its why most of these top tier players don't test. They can only hurt themselves. All they gotta say is, "watch my tape". Xavier Worthy a WR broke the 40 record at 4.21. However everybody knew he was fast. It doesn't change the fact that he is small and weighs like 160 pounds. Don't think that changes his stock at all.
