It's Rip Van Winkle as City sleep while Arsenal go on all guns blazin' saddles on fire and horses gone ape .Five out of five in '24 for Arteta and one of those over Liverpool who also sit above City as it stands. Guardiola's human goal machine missed 3 (or 4, was it?) sitters yesterday as Chelsea stole the show at the old Maine Road and ballsing up a million accas as they went about it. Moyes resorts to wordplay as he defends West Ham's reputation quoting victories "this year" over Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea. This season maybe, but hardly an all-round quartet of impressive scalps - two maybe, one certainly. But with all that, West Ham 8th and still the Moyes Out banner is flown yesterday at the defeat to Forest. West Ham fans want Champions League glory, make no mistake about it, pal. Burnley look even more doomed if that's possible and Sheff Utd will be similarly affected should they lose to Brighton in the first Sunday game before Luton welcome Man Utd to Kenilworth Road. A win for Luton would lift them 4 points clear of the drop zone and here's to that, you have to say.
Sheff U 7/2 Brighton 4/6
Luton 3/1 Man Utd 4/5

Corner. Scramble. Deflections. Goal. Brighton. 0-1.

Two. Two for Brighton. Sheffield hopeless in defence and Welbeck slams it home. 10 man Blades are up against it now. Holgate's red-carded high boot on Mitoma earlier has surely opened the floodgates for more Brighton goals. You'd think this will become a rout as Chris Wilder tries to rally his forlorn-looking troops. To be frank, it was a potential mobster-stylee knee-capper from Holgate and he had to go, 12 minutes on the clock or not.

It's too easy for Brighton but there is a danger that they are playing just a little too fancily with the Blades. There is more passing than is necessary, more footwork than finishing, per George Orwell in Down And Out In Paris And London when, starving, he believes he will be starting a job as a dishwasher which will mean wages which will mean food for his stomach. He feels good, expectant. But the job falls through and he realizes, hungrier now than ever, his big mistake was "allowing my belly to expect food". Brighton are savouring the mere thought of more goals, like you tinkle around the edges of a fine restaurant meal before wholeheartedly going in with a rampant fork for the kill only for the waiter to swipe your laden plate from the table because the restaurant is about to close. Or maybe a 2-0 lead is good enough for them and it's an opportunity against a depleted opposition to practice flair and pass completion.
And there's Sheffield from the corner and into the goal. But it's disallowed by VAR for hands. Hands in the Brighton box. Or was it Osborn offside when he scored? The fans don't seem to know. Ref Atwell scrutinizes his monitor. It's offside Osbourn. It's still 0-2 Brighton.
After 8 minutes of added time it's the intermission. Sheff Utd 0 Brighton 2.

Half time browsing, and elsewhere Bayer Leverkusen become 4/9 favourites for the title after their latest victory opens up an 8 point lead over Bayern Munich, Rangers topple Celtic at the peak of the Scottish Premier League with Brendan Rodgers under growing pressure, PSG and Inter stay wildly clear at the tops of their divisions and just six points separates 1st from 7th with Lobi Stars on 36 points and Bendel Insurance on 30 in the Nigeria Premier League.

They're giving us a game, Sheffield. They're giving us a game. But time is short.

It's certainly all over now. Wilder, head sunk in his hands, watches as Jack Robinson turns it into his own net for 0-3 Brighton.

Moments later it's 4, as Adringa steers it home. The Sheffield fans begin to make their way out with ten minutes left.

Jack Robinson and Chris Wilder united in dejection.

Oh, this is cruel. It's 5. Adringa's effort takes a deflection and the rout is complete. Minutes to go.
Wilder has brought very little to the club since his appointment, you have to say. 2 wins in 13 games now, is it? Not enough. Just not enough. Luton must be buzzing now as they prepare to face Man U and possibly open up a 10 point gap over the bottom two, Sheff U and Burnley and a 4 point bridge over Everton. It's a big game coming up shortly, make no mistake.

Unless I'm wrong, Luton have played Man U just 12 times in competitive games and have yet to beat them. What odds Luton break the trend today? Well, 3/1.

That didn't take long. Rasmus Holjund. United. Nothing-one. A poor pass after the Luton keeper cleared let Holjund in to round the keeper and slot it home after half a minute. Luton 0 United1. Bah.

Nom de dieu, it's two after 6 minutes. Hojlund directs it in off his chest, very deft. Double bah.

Fair play Luton. been great after their terrible start. Poor Harry Maguire. I hope he plays against Liverpool in that game in a few weeks/months
Great game in the end. Luton put Burnley and Sheffield United to shame and even Palace and Everton. They deserve to stay up with this football
