This did it. This movie is what turned me off from Coen brother/s.
Must be the worst movie I saw this year. Like worse then Madame Web.
So cringe and needlessly crass and not in a fun way.I get it lesbians love oral sex and masturbation, who doesnt, but what does it bring to this movie thats so special that it has to be there so many times?? Even if it was a straight couple I would be asking the same question btw.
I really like Beanie Feldstien (she is simply great in everything and is always either funny or likeable) but shes not there enough.
Pedro Pascal is in it for less than 90 seconds btw what a FRAUD to put him on the poster/in the trailer.
Similar case with Matt Damon.
But its just completelt unfunny and uninteresting, doesnt work on Any level. No chemistry no functional jokes no nothing.
Cool music maybe, so thats what the 3 points are for here: 3/10
Ugh.
its like it was written by an untalented 14 year old. On drugs.

That is disappointing. The trailer made it look promising.

That is disappointing. The trailer made it look promising. yes the trailer is So Much better then the actual movie. I really really struggled with this one. couldnt get into it at all, didnt find any of it funny, didnt really like anybody there other than Beanie so the only thing for me to enjoy there was the soundtrack which was cool. It had a cooky energy not unlike Oh, Brother Where Art Thou (which i liked) But I feel like they missed one key ingredience: one of the oddballs has to be likable or sexy. And this just didnt have likability or sexiness. The actresses are of course beautiful, no doubt about that, its the characters that have the problem. one is a super slut without letting the audience understand why, and the other one is too uptight and while we did get a GLIMPSE of insight into her soul its just too little to care. ill be interested to hear someone elses take on this movie.

For some reason if it was a straight couple, I think MORE people would ask the same question.

I dug it for the most part. Thought it was funny. Miley Cyrus playing a parody of Cynthia Plastercaster, one of the most infamous groupies of all time, is perfect.

you think? either way, i just dont get what it was supppsed to bring to the movie or its story. it felt forced and repetitive. example of sex scenes done well is in All of us Strangers. there it brings something extra, makes sense. enhances the story and the characters journey. here it just made me like everybody less because it felt so forced and juvenile

That's the 'modern audience' angle they keep hammering on about that we just don't understand.

Recently read an article that Gen Z wants less sex scenes in movies and shows. Unless it enhances the story. I'm not really opposed to that. If I watch something I'm not just doing so for nudity or sex scenes.

I didn't think it was great, but I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The trailer looked awful, IMO, and then I heard nothing but bad things. I only watched it in a bit to complete a full watch of Al the Coen Bros. movies, together and/or apart. It's not going to make my list of best movies of the year or anything, but it was all right.

It sucks to see one of my favorite directors of all time leave an all-time directorial pairing with his brother to make movies with his bisexual wife that clearly wants to be with women rather than him.
Hopefully this doesn't permanently sour you on Ethan Coen. From what I've read, it seems his "wife" walked all over him to make this movie how she wanted.
