I haven’t met many sports athletes or famous athletes, but there is a lot that are very two-faced and can come across as mean.
And before anyone says it, I’m sure Gary Sheffield is one.

In my experience of getting autographs of junior hockey players, I've had only one negative experience.
After the game after a London Knights' loss, I approached Rico Fata, who is/was a 1st round pick of the Calgary Flames. He immediately said to me:
I'M NOT SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS!
Ohhhhh....kay then.
As well, I didn't experience this - it was told to me by a friend of mine, who is a fellow autograph hound.
Back when he played for the Belleville Bulls, Daniel Cleary flat out said 'no' when friend asked him for an autograph.
Finally, back MANY years ago, the Knights hosted a skills competition. It featured players from all generations - including Patrick Kane.
I heard about this one from a friend of mine.
A kid approached Kane for an autograph. Kane's response?
I'M BUSY.
