A wonderful and prolific character actor. One of those guys who seemed to have been born middle aged and an ever-reliable presence for more than 50 years. R.I.P.

Best remember him from Blade Runner. Talk about Beauty and the Beast. She's both. For me, it's the hitman in the Coen debut, Blood Simple.

Marvelous character actor with an incredible 234 acting credits that includes both movies and TV. Worked right to the very end. His best role was arguably that of the slimy private detective in Blood Simple.
R.I.P.

RIP, as others have said a great character actor who was equally adept at comedy and drama.

"No movie featuring either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh in a supporting role can be altogether bad."

"No movie featuring either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh in a supporting role can be altogether bad." Interestingly--the best part of The Last Stand was Stanton's appearance. He was more intimidating than the bad guys.

He was more intimidating than the bad guys. That would be "Straight Time". Walsh is excellent in a smallish role as Dustin Hoffman's a--hole parole officer. Stanton also appears.

Funny enough I almost watched an M. Emmet Walsh movie tonight but opted for something random that I had not seen--Stiletto 1969.
And he was in it!

Top actor who was always a pleasure to see....he owned the screen ....even in small bit parts. "I'm being paid for what I'd do for nothing. I approach each job thinking I may die of a heart attack, so it had better be the best work possible."
Respect , R.i.P. to you and yours , and many thanx for the work.

I was going to say Chuck McCann is the poor man's M Emmet Walsh but I think a better choice would be Lou Frizzell.
