My neighbour Taff was kind enough to drive me to a hospital appointment this morning.
Afterwards he insisted we had post appointment pints in a pub.
Now then, I haven't been in a pub for a few years... £11 for just two pints. That's madness prices. No wonder the pub trade is dying on it's arse and everyone drinks at home now.

Drinking at home has gotten expensive as well. Twelve packs of non-mass produced beer are going for about $24 here in California now in grocery stores/drug stores/convenience stores. That used to be the price for a case. Pretty much just buy beer at Costco now where I can get a case for about $28.

I can get a 10 can box of Thatchers Gold for the same price as just two pints in a pub... It makes no sense to go out anymore.

Went out for the second day of the basketball tournament and it wasn't like it was 10-to-15 years ago. Hard for young people to do drinking out and about at those prices.

Have you bought any IPAs in a store? You can't unless you're rich these days.
I'm actually going back to light beers lately. Much cheaper (and better on your gut).

You should think yourself lucky. I was out with the missus a few weeks ago waiting for Midi-chlorian Count Jnr's concert to finish. We had a bit of time to kill so popped into this pub - in no way a particularly fancy establishment I may add - for a drink while we were waiting. The missus wanted a large white wine, which I noticed on their blackboard was £7. Quite pricey in itself but then a 250ml glass and I've seen that before. So I ordered that and a pint of Beavertown for myself. It came to over £14!! Couldn't believe it. I sat down in disbelief staring at the pint as I told Mrs Midi-chlorian Count that it had cost over £7 for a pint! Anyway, the happy ending to the tale is that we were so outraged we did something we hadn't done in well over twenty years (no, not THAT!) and Mrs Midi-chlorian Count sneakily placed the pretty snazzy pint glass in her bag as we were leaving and we now have one of these:-

That's pretty much why I haven't bought a beer at bowling for the whole year.
$5.50 for a 341mL bottle.
Whereas, I can have a 473mL can after bowling at home for just about $4.
