I can’t really say anything bad yet about Leo Howard as Tate but he is taking over the role from Jamie who has been one of the best young actors on Days in so many years. I wish he would have stayed but respect his decision. Casting a 27 year old as a 16 year old wasn’t the best decision but then BH 90210 cast Luke Perry and Gabrielle Carteris as high school kids when they were well into their 20s too.
I do hope that Nicole slaps the crap out of Kristen. She really needs to lose big time. Just can’t stand her at all. Not that I ever did since SH took over the role.
Lastly, love the way Kayla punched John. That was hysterical.
Not totally invested in the storylines right now as things seem a little anticlimactic but hopefully as May sweeps season comes along it will build up steam again.

The best stuff was definitely Kristen and Nicole. I enjoyed those scenes. Also the heat is coming on Sloan right now, which is interesting to watch her play. Something has to give...
I am not interested in Johnny and Chanel, Tripp and Wendy, Abe and Paulina, John's moping, Xander and Sarah...blah.
Did you see they showed two new cast members? Maybe NuGabi and someone else. People are saying a Sonny recast but why? What's wrong with Zach Tinker? he was great!

People are saying a Sonny recast but why? What's wrong with Zach Tinker? he was great! Nicole and Kristen’s fight was the highlight of the week. I love how Nicole brought up the mask that Kristen wore to create her spawn with Brady. I agree with the rest of the week though. I definitely liked the Sloan scenes though. Especially when she hugged Leo. It’s also great to see her involved with other characters on the show. That’s why I like her so much. She has great scenes with everyone involved. I also wanted to mention how strange the Julie scenes this week. I love how she’s getting a lot of screen time but this escape to the cabin was just weird. I’m still on the fence with Nu-Tate. He’s not a bad actor but he just isn’t Tate. I do love the feistiness in Holly though. Lastly, the outdoors shots are great. They’re incorporating them more and more giving the show a little more quality in production and I also noticed the blue lighting effects are no longer being used.

Nicole and Kristen was the best part. I am glad that they keep saying she raped Eric. Because that is what it was. And basically saying that the only reason Rachel exists is because Brady thought he was with Nicole was a nice dagger to Kristen. She's just the worst!!!
I really am enjoying Sloan as well. I think she's great. but I am reading things she's not on the show anymore?
I agree on NuTate, I think he has been miscast.
The outdoor stuff is great, although I didn't think Salem was such a booming metropolis lol
The Julie stuff is weird...I also don't really understand why Sarah would offer up her family cabin to two people she barely knows. I;m getting a little annoyed about how they keep trying to force certain characters into families. Johnny is a DiMera and Brady, he's not a Horton...why is he being shoved in the Horton family? Same with Stephanie, she is a Brady...but all her family scenes are with Hortons...it's weird.

The outdoor stuff is great, although I didn't think Salem was such a booming metropolis lol Salem has always been the biggest small town. They can never make up their mind about Salem. They always try to present it as this quaint little town where everyone knows one another. Yet, it's also home to Titan's headquarters, which are ostensibly house in a skyscraper. Ditto Basic Black once upon a time. Plus Dimera. Hollywood never seems to have a concept of what a small town actually looks like; and they always end up huge cities. Buffy's "small town" of Sunnydale had a population of 33,000 people, Smallville had something like 45,000 - like, those aren't nearly the "small town" they tried to make them out to be. Like, I live in a small city. It has a population around 7800. A handful of neighboring communities within about 10-15 miles that are actually a fair bit smaller than that even. One or two of them are comparable to where I live in appearance, while another is super small, but kind of pricey as it sits on a lake and evidently a good deal of rich people, possibly a few famous people own summer houses there, driving up the property value. The other small towns are very small don't have much to them other than a school and gas station, maybe a supermarket. There's one township that literally has none of those things; it's basically three streets, a bunch of houses, a bad and a river. I kind of marvel that people actually live there, because you'd genuinely have to drive at least 5-10 miles to the nearest gas station, much less grocery store. Then there are two cities within 20 miles or so that are much larger; one with a population of 66,000, the other with 44,000. And they're bigger cities, but more in terms of geographic coverage; bigger business districts, probably more factory type industry (which is also the case where I live), but still the furthest thing from a metropolitan type city. Even the next city up from that, about 40 some miles away with 74,000 people, sort of inches in that direction, but isn't quite there yet. We're at least 70 miles in any direction from cities on that scale. I always thought it would be interesting - in the logistical sense, more than it probably would be from a story perspective - if they addressed this in some of way of like, "Salem" being comprised of multiple municipalities that have just sort of grown into and overlapped each other over the years. One of which may actually be the city of Salem, and maybe another is the "township of Salem" and there may be others. Eventually all the different entities involved get tired of the conflicting jurisdictions and decide to finally streamline everything and incorporate some greater under the city of Salem. This could also result in a reworking of the Salem PD, where they're like, "Look, you can't just call the top person in charge "commissioner" if they're only overseeing one precinct. Some of y'all haven't even made Lieutenant yet."

I have always found it weird about Salem too, that 2-3 multinational corporations all run out of the same town but yet you can get everywhere by walking and everyone knows everyone. I never pictured Salem to have skyscrapers or condos but I guess they are trying to be like a Chicago suburb or something.
I live in a HUGE, overpopulated city, but the area I live in has a more small-town feel to it because we don't have a ton of skyscrapers near me and there are a lot of houses and little neighbourhood shops.

I remember that when I first watched DOOL, Salem was supposed to be small town USA. I know that was almost 60 years ago when the show was created and I didn’t start watching until 1980. But, I guess it grew tremendously over the years. LOL! If the city were so big now, wouldn’t Salem Place be a huge entertainment center with restaurants, movie theaters and so much more? I guess we are just supposed to overlook those things. I’m still wondering how the weather can be so different within the city? On the island, there’s a major snowstorm but everyone else is dressed for Spring. Chad had a short sleeve tee shirt on at Salem Place. I know it’s supposed to be somewhat climate controlled from when the unveiling was done and it was mentioned but wouldn’t you still need a coat to wear going into Salem Place?

That always bugs me about the Town Square, I thought it was open air but also had a roof, so it wasn't completely indoors.
I think we just have to suspend belief about a lot of things in Salem lol
