Martin Scorsese Wants to Cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Sinatra in New Biopic: Reportwww.yahoo.com/entertainment/martin-scorsese-wants-cast-leonardo-195033509.htmlThe director reportedly wants Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence for the Sinatra biopic."Leonardo DiCaprio may be stepping into major shoes for his next role. Variety reported April 17 that director Martin Scorsese, 81, is planning to make a biopic about Frank Sinatra after he makes his movie about Jesus. The outlet cited sources who said DiCaprio, 49, would play the iconic singer-actor in the film, with Jennifer Lawrence also eyed as Sinatra's second wife Ava Gardner. DiCaprio and Lawrence, 33, costarred with each other in 2021's Don't Look Up. Variety reported that Sinatra's daughter Tina, 75, holds control over Frank's estate and has not yet approved of the project. Reps for DiCaprio, Scorsese and Lawrence did not respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment."

Not that I'm excited for yet another music biopic one way or another, but holy hell, Leo as Sinatra would be some of the worst casting ever. I know the guy helped him retain big studio backing for the past few decades, but surely there's another box office draw willing to work with Martin fucking Scorsese. And I'm sure plenty of them know how to scream and scrunch up their face and do questionable accents just as well as Leo.

I think Leo as Sinatra would be a fucking disaster that would be like on the level of the Cats movie.

It's part of Hollywood brain-wasting.
A Sinatra film is just wankery at this point--made more sense-25 years ago. But the way they shoehorn in actors to prevent new talent--Scorsese is guilty of this too.
Jlaw is terrible casting too. Maybe Scorsese is forced to use them or he feels someone less famous would be beneath his reputation. It's a strange phenomenon.
The studios must not feel Scorsese alone is enough to sell it. It's a mashup of celebrity brands.

Is Leo still young enough?
I always though Leo could play a killer Orson Welles, alas too old for that prime now also.
Why there's never been a Welles/Kane biopic is beyond me.

Leo thinks he is doing something profound by acting in only Oscar bait movies. I respect actors like Al Pacino or De Niro who seem to realize acting is just something fun they get to do that they are lucky to make million off of

As good as Leo is, I just can't picture him as Sinatra. He doesn't look or sound anything like him. It's reminding me of "J. Edgar".

I'm more intrigued by the choice of Jennifer Lawrence in this movie. If she successfully portrays Ava Gardner that could be huge. Not sure I see Leo as Sinatra, though I don't know Sinatra that well.

I love DiCaprio, but I don't really see him as Sinatra. Scorsese is great at making biopics, so I'm fine with that, but I'd prefer someone other than Leo in the role.

This is a bad idea across the board, I don't even think Scorsese is the right guy to make a biopic about Frank...much less these castings.

Vincent Price: "Ava Gardner. Oh dear. Every time I think about her I go limp..well no not exactly that."

I must agree with others in the chat, DiCaprio is not the right fit for Sinatra. I am not feeling Lawrence as Gardner, either.

I’ve never been intrigued by Sinatra for whatever reason. This is probably one I’ll skip.

I’ve never been intrigued by Sinatra for whatever reason. This is probably one I’ll skip. The most interesting part of his life was covered in a 45 second speech in The Godfather.
