When my father was alive, he was somewhat into movies. He preferred westerns, comedies and anything with James Garner or Clint Eastwood.
My mother is 90 and I try to watch movies with her but her memory and attention are quickly fading and she will forget what is going on and say things like "Who's that?" repeatedly. 10 years ago, my mom was as sharp as a razor and we would watch movies at home and in theaters much more often. I was proud I got her to see all three "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". And she like them all except for GOTG 3. I recently tried to show her all three of Kenneth Branagh Hercule Poirot movies and she just could not follow them at all. 10 years ago she would have had no problem.
She loves Martin Scorsese movies, animated movies from Pixar / Disney and older movies on TCM mostly. I think her favorite movie though is a toss up between Woody Allen's "Radio Days" and Hitchcock's "Psycho".
My older brother Jim loves anything with Godzilla. He took me to see "Godzilla Minus One" twice in theaters. Once, to see the color version and the second time to see the B & W version. He also loves MCU films but hates DC films.
