As far as I know, my parents barely do. Maybe an occasional random junk movie on Netflix or some foreign film at the movies. Back when I was growing up, they would though. Mother saw quite a bit of stuff at the movies, but my dad very rarely, and mainly older stuff at home.
I've never known my grandparents to be movie watchers ever. One of my grandmas watched Home Alone on TV, at least in part, during a small family gathering a few Christmases ago though.

My mom and her mom like/d movies. My grandmother was big on Italian movies, her favorite might have been The Bicycle Thief. My mom likes a little of everything, but favors thrillers I suppose.
Dad also likes movies but I wouldn't categorize him as a movie buff.
Not sure about the rest.

Yes, but they aren't movie buffs like I am.

My dad watches quite a bit of movies. Not as much as me, but he’s a movie fan. My mom isn’t much into movies.
My Grandpa who passed away a couple years ago loved movies. He’d go with my Grandma to the cinema probably at least once a week.
My Grandma on the other side has about five movies she watches on loop. My Grandpa on the other side is a big fan of older stuff, particularly Hitchcock.

Not really. My dad would watch something solely to kill time, but he’d often get bored pretty quick. Did like older movies though. Mom enjoys them more than dad did.
My grandmother thinks it’s a waste of time - but it’s not like she does anything worthwhile with her time so she can get fucked.

Yes, my parents do. (Grandparents are all tits up.) For my entire life, my parents have has infamously bad movie taste. My dad used to rent Lou Ferrigno and Steven Seagal movies. He rented a movie called Carnosaur and thought it was good. With my mom, it's mostly crappy Lifetime stuff.

My mom still watches movies though she isn't a movie buff like I am. I'm not sure if my dad watches much. Both grandmothers only have access to TV so I don't know if they watch that much either, and I've never met either of my grandfathers to know at all.

No idea about grandparents. Parents not much, we probably went to the cinema as a family group a grand total of about 10 times and we didn't have a VCR.
Oddly later on my mother did mention liking Antonioni's Blow-up, though she didn't know him by name. I watched it with her and showed her a couple of his other films that she didn't seem to mind. She also liked The Apartment and Audrey Hepburn

My Mum will watch the occasional movie on TV. She rarely plans it, but if she's flicking through the channels and something sparks her interest she'll often stick with it until the end. Dad does not care for movies, but on rare instances he'll check out an oldie such as The Great Escape or a Western such as Unforgiven on the telly. Neither are movie junkies though. Mum prefers medical documentaries, stuff to do with travel or nature, home design and detective shows. Dad is mad into home design and news and current affairs. He devours political stuff. Also watches WWII history documentaries.
Even when dating, they never went to the cinema together. And this is back in the early 80s, pre-home video era we're talking about here. Mum actually went quite often in her single days but Dad wasn't interested. And to think of all the classics released during those years. They took my brother and I on cinema trips from time to time, mostly Mum but occasionally Dad. Last time Mum went to the cinema was back in 2005. 1999 in Dad's case. In fairness, I haven't been since 2018 myself.
My now long-departed paternal grandmother (RIP, Nan) lived with us when I was growing up and she watched a lot of movies with my brother and I - not necessarily entirely by choice! She saw those old Ninja Turtles and Star Trek movies many, many times over the years. Her own tastes veered towards the popular British soaps, mainly Coronation Street, of which my other grandmother was also a fan. Used to watch a lot of British game shows such as The Generation Game and Noel's House Party as well.

They cannot fathom how I can dedicate myself to films with titles such as The Evil Dead or The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. As the saying goes, one man's art is another man's trash.

Very barely.
I saw Apollo 13 theatrically with my grandfather, that was a fun lark of an afternoon. I was 15, & was something do to while I was visiting for the week, in Ottawa.
My mother goes with her friends every 3yrs or so seems like. The King's Speech, The Grand Budapest Hotel, stuff like that. I went with her to watch Ratatouille, which is funny because I gave it no thought & it's been in my top 50 since that viewing. I think she'd read about it via cooking adjacent readings buzz & whatnot. I watched the THX Star Wars VHS trilogy with her as a bucket list thing I guess. The Insider, she sat with me to watch on DVD one time. Oddly, she's never watched with my sister, who's not a cinephile & shame cuz her kids might grow up without an interest.

My parents were big movie fans, but not the extent that I am. My father watched a lot of thrillers, crime dramas, and comedies, my mother would watch a lot of comedies, romances, and occasionally fantasy.

My father watched a lot of thrillers, crime dramas, and comedies, my mother would watch a lot of comedies, romances, and occasionally fantasy. My dad mainly watched "realistic" stuff like crime dramas and comedies as well, mainly old stuff. Mother was more romcoms and action thrillers. Neither were a fan of sci-fi or fantasy. Even though they were around to see stuff like Star Wars growing up, they never had, and it was up to me to try get them to see them. I managed to convince them eventually, and we sat down and watched Episode IV one day, don't think they care much for it at all. They then fell asleep during episode V and then I never bothered trying to continue. I did somehow manage to get them to see Lord of the Rings trilogy one Christmas holiday. Mother seemed indifferent but dad I recall saying he liked it but it would have been "better without the magic".
Dad did introduce me to classics like The Godfather, The Blues Brothers and Planes, Trains & Automobiles though, which I still love to this day. I obviously would have gotten around to all those at some point anyway but still. He probably hasn't seen too much post 1990.

My father regularly watches movies, especially more recent ones. My mother, on the other hand, doesn't and regularly watches home improvement shows, shopping channels like HSN and QVC, or cable news.

My grandparents watched a lot of TV, but I can't recall them ever going to the movies. I remember watching stuff like Dallas and Columbo with my maternal grandfather.
My dad used to have an extensive VHS collection, but he had little interest in watching movies at the theater. My mom told me, that back as a student she used to be a frequent moviegoer, but once she started to work she didn't have the time anymore and found it more convenient to watch films at home. When I was a kid we used to go to the local video store almost every weekend to check out the latest releases.
Today my mom mostly watches TV, she says, she doesn't have the patience for movies any more.

My mother would go to the theater when she used to work downtown. My father mainly watched on TV. When I was a boy, the family would go to the drive-in. Mother would also watch cable channels like BET and OWN. Both deceased now, REALLY miss them.

Dad watches a lot of movies, especially now that he’s been retired. But they are mostly all older films. He got me addicted to WW2 and the 007 films. He worked irregular shifts when I was growing up (nights and days) but when he was off he’d sometimes take us to the movies. I know we saw at least 2 films (including Empire strikes back) at the drive in before it was torn down and we saw Top Gun and the first 3 Jack Ryan films before I moved out of the house.
Mom took us to the movies a lot on the weekends when my Dad was working. Saw a lot of the 80s greatest hits back then. Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, etc. We rented a lot of films from the mom and pop movie store until Blockbuster ran them out of business. Mom knew the owners of the old store so about that time we stopped really renting movies. But it wasn’t much longer that I was able to drive so I’d go and check out the new releases by then.

I don't know that much about my grandmother, as she died when I was very young. Grandfather did watch some old stuff from television, mostly melodramas I think, don't think he ever went much into cinema.
My dad was more of a book reader, later in life he didn't even have a television. Then he got one for a while only to find out that he doesn't like watching it and went back to reading books.
My mother however was very much into movies throughout her life. She went to see films from Bergman, Polanski, Kurosawa etc, but also stuff like Audrey Hepburn movies, when they were first released. She liked to talk nostalgically about her youth, seeing all these classics and how much more an event going to movies was back then. Oddly she was never into renting video tapes when that format appeared. Instead, she actively taped movies off television, which is how I got into Kurosawa and Bergman, but also "cult" movies like Fritz the Cat and Heavy Metal. I don't know what kind of cinematic tastes I would have without those tapes; they certainly helped me to expand my tastes outside horror movies, which I was quite obsessed with as a teenager.
My two sister are also into movies, though not as much as I.
Another thing maybe worth mentioning is that my mom, dad and both sisters were/are very much into comic books. As it was natural for me to me to think that everyone reads comics regardless of age, I was quite surprised to find out later in life that many consider them a childish hobby.
