Richard Schiff’s character Eddie Carr in The Lost World does all the hard work keeping the bus from falling off the cliff. Then he gets ripped apart by the two Rexes.

Even when Tim Roth starts yelling at him I'm like "Easy!" "Random side characters I feel bad for" are kind of a pattern with QT. See also Brad/Brett in Pulp Fiction (even though he kinda brought that on himself), Wilhelm in Basterds, and especially John Hawkes at the beginning of From Dusk Till Dawn.

There was a running meme online that in Avengers: Endgame, the random rat that set Ant-Man free from the Quantum Realm was the real hero.

Richard Schiff’s character Eddie Carr in The Lost World does all the hard work keeping the bus from falling off the cliff. Then he gets ripped apart by the two Rexes. LOL That's the first guy I thought of.
Also, it was hilarious how Roland is so dismissive of it-saying they had just been fed so would not attack them and
Malcolm--"I assume you mean Eddie--he gave his life to save ours."
And Roland says his point was that animals don't kill when they aren't hungry and Vaughn's character replies
"only humans do!" and Roland says "you're breaking our heart."
That film had superior characterization to the first one.

Friday the 13th part 2 - Sandy the Waitress By being a hell of a waitress and getting Ted drunk she winds up saving his life because he can't go back to Camp to get slaughtered by Jason. Ted is one of the most bewildering survivors of any slasher movie.
