I'm a little less interested now that I looked it up. I thought it was a star-studded documentary about the creation of the pop-tart. I would be more interested in that. Jerry Seinfeld works best for me as Jerry Seinfeld. Yeah, that’s what I assumed it would be when he announced he was making it, not some strange Hudsucker Proxy imitation. |

I like Seinfeld and always have, but he has one character only, and it's him. Not that there's anything wrong with that. |

I really laughed during the funeral and the insurrection scenes. Actually got better the more it went on. It's a silly fun time killer that made me chuckle more than once. Nothing wrong with that. Hugh Grant as Tony the Tiger is the casting coup of the decade.  I didn't find it fun and mostly very unfunny. There are 2 scenes that made me chuckle. The JFK scene and the funeral scene. Of course there is nothing wrong with enjoying silly dumb comedy (I mostly enjoyed Ricky Stanicky, for example), but this movie misses the mark at almost every turn imo. was worse. 👎 |

While no classic or anything, and at times it was straining too hard, I liked it. I didn't start out wanting to even watch it but it won me over a little bit. Similar in style to Mel Brooks or Carl Reiner comedies, something younger viewers might not be familiar with, that kind of comedy. One cannot go into a comedy like this with a serious attitude.

I'd be more interested in the movie about Gretchen Weiner's dad inventing those. Anyway, I finally finished this after a couple Netflix and chill situations where I wasn't really paying attention. One thing I found interesting is that the villains are presented as the underdogs - Kellogs is the big daddy, win all the awards from a ceremony they secretly own, resort to underhanded schemes like buying out sugar, literally kill a guy, etc. Post also beats them to the poptart flavor - partly through spies and stealing info from Kellogs, but Kellogs employs the same tactics. For Post, the stakes are finally winning whereas for Kellogs it's basically just staying on top. Post is also run by a woman, which seems like a big deal for the 60s. I wonder if Jerry wrote it this way since, being one of the richest comedians in the world since the 90s, he couldn't really conceive a story otherwise. All this talk about the plot of a dumb comedy because it's really not particularly funny. Burr as JFK amused me as expected, and I liked the Mad Men sketch. That's about it. |

Goofy little harmless movie that was hit and miss...for me though there were more hits than misses, I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
