I'm not even going to mention Ikaru. Because it sucks.

I do not find any of them confusing. Perhaps you are only fluent in the wrong dialect of Japanese?

I did see those first three, but don't remember too much, and don't remember liking them (maybe for similar reasons), but I loved "Ikiru" which was the first movie I saw of his.

I did not like Ikiru at all. I even liked it less than the first 3.
