Here's a caption taken form a very recent article:
...Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad [both] were hits in terms of box office ($872.7million and $745.6million respectively) but there’s some work to do to realign the franchise in the eyes on the fans. WB are still pressing ahead with their films, including Justice League, Aquaman and Batgirl, amongst others, and one that seems to also be on the radar is a Suicide Squad sequel.
So, even someone who says that "there’s some work to do to realign the franchise in the eyes on the fans" acknowledges that the movies "were hits in terms of box office". In other words there was enough audience out there that liked these movies, and may have even seen these movies at the theatre more than once.
So who exactly are the naysayers? And if these movies are successful, why listen to them? Sure, anything can be made better, but a movie that makes $745.6million is not a flop. Any studio making that kind of money from a movie has to believe that they're doing something right, and there's enough audience out there that agrees.
Any opinions?

one might argue that the only thing they did right was tap DC Comics properties.

Any opinions? Just because a movie makes money doesn't mean that people like it. Transformers 4 made $1 billion for Christ's sake. There's a lot of bad movies on this list.

Oh, I agree, and the entire Transformers franchise is a good example. Also the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Those had decent first movies, but the rest sucked. but even the current Pirates movie, which has to be the worst reviewed one, is apparently doing very well for itself.
Still, who's to say if a movie sucks if that movie is so hugely popular? Maybe its those of us who are saying that it sucks that are wrong. Maybe we're the ones missing something.
After all, some people even hated Avatar and Star Wars TFA, by far the most money making movies ever.

Perhaps beyond a certain point, mainstream audiences are idiots. Maybe Michael Bay is the smartest man in Hollywood after all.

When a movie makes a lot of money, it just means that people wanted to see it. It doesn't say anything about whether they like it or not. I don't get wrapped up in box office numbers, I concentrate more on reviews from both fans and critics. Avatar is its own beast IMO. Opinions of it now do not reflect that of the time of release. I believe so many were caught up in the fact that it was James Cameron's first movie in a decade.

These movies have built-in audiences and made half their money in their opening weekends before experiencing record-breaking drops their second once word of mouth set in.
Can't DCEU fans move on from the fact that people didn't like their first couple of movies now that they have Wonder Woman?

I guess not as long as you keep thinking there's a difference between DCEU fans and just fans of pop culture movies.

The average fan of pop culture movies doesn't go around endlessly trying to prove that everyone liked (to use an example from this thread) Transformers, for instance. They just like Transformers and accept that most people didn't.

A number of them aren't really naysayers. They are just extreme Marvel fans that hate on any comic book movie that isn't Marvel. They are bound to do the exact same thing to the upcoming movies of Painkiller Jane, Avegelyne, the Crow, Spawn etc simply 'cause they don't want any competition from other companies.

I apply the stopped clock principle to naysayers.

I am a Marvel fan. Thor Fangirl since 1965 when I saw him on Marvel Super Heroes when I was 5. Cap as well. I have seen every DCEU film in theater other than Man of Steel. I see myself as a Marvel Fangirl first, then comics in general, but overall of a fantasy bent. LotR, Star Wars, Star Trek...yep. The Crow remains one of the best superhero films ever made. Want to talk about your image of us Marvel fans? I'm sorry. Most of the Comic-Con types I run into here over 30 are appalled by DCEU until WW. Cavell has it. One could see in spots he can shine as Superman IF WE CAN GET PAST SNYDER'S CRAPPY VISION. As Reeve said when asked about Supes' godlike powers-he didn't see the character in that way. For all his being from another planet Kal was brought up a Kansas farmboy. Earth is his home. And that whole don't help other people-that's not Supes. Supes is the guy keeping calm while everyone is running around panicked "Don't worry. I'll take care of this". Reeve's advice to the next person to portray Kal-El was to remember he is a friend. That is so simple Why the PUCK can Snyder not get it through his head? I was so horrified at BvS. That wasn't Bats. That was only Supes in spots. That was Lex Luthor as Ledger's Joker. Lex Luthor isn't crazy. He's like Doom-intelligent, maybe follows the wrong path. He is a mastermind. A supervillain. Suicide Squad did not know what it wanted to be. Joker & Harley should have been the subject of their own film or a Batman film, then they could make the Suicide Squad movie. So dismiss me as just some Marvel fanatic.
