When I saw The Phantom Menace on FOX around 2002 I thought it was so vibrant and brilliant. I was in love with Star Wars and George Lucas because he was for lack of a better word like a God in cinema the way he was able to craft entire worlds. I thought his 6-part series was brilliant. And I wanted to be just like him. But then something happened. George Lucas and the prequels started to be attacked viciously. Everybody hated them, oh so it would seem. Nobody came to defend them. So, if you ever wonder why Disney now owns Star Wars here's your answer. There are people out there that are like demons in human form. They just tear down things they cannot create themselves. If a lifetime achievement award winner like George Lucas can get taken down the rest of us don't stand a chance.

Since you didn't see TPM until 2002, I guess you were unaware it had already been hated for a good three years. Likewise, Clones was hated upon release as well. The only one that got a warm-ish reception was Sith. In any case, since it's been said I care too much what other people think about Star Wars, note that this guy literally just called me a "demon in human form" for not enjoying the Star Wars prequels. Feel free to swoop in and defend me at any time, person who knows who they are.

The people who hate the Star Wars prequels are satanic individuals who thrive on the desecration of good art.

On a serious note, this seemed like a post that was better to just ignore and move on with my day. But if you're trying to see if I'm a hypocrite, I will defend people's right to their movie opinions that I disagree with. I don't care much for the sequel trilogy, but I don't care if other people like them, and I get annoyed at the people who constantly shit on them and the people that enjoy them.

A group of loud neckbeards online is not "everyone". They were and are still are hugely popular and beloved movies. What you read on reddit does not reflect reality, and it's insane this stupid narrative still persists in 2024, but people are gullible. But yeah I sometimes do wonder if Disney's treatment of George and how they decided to make The Force Awakens was partly a result of these manchildren crying about Jar Jar online. Could be, but I don't think Disney cared much either way and just wanted to stick to a safe formula.

I more just wanted the record to show that, whatever I've said about the PT, I never accused anyone of Satanism for enjoying them. Not liking the prequels is also the only reason I can think of for why Roberto (re: neckbeard comment below) would have for blocking me, unless it's just my general snarkiness (in which case, fair enough!). I don't represent all ST defenders (or at least TLJ defenders - I refused and still refuse to watch Rise of Skywalker on principle) and Roberto/cat avatar guy don't represent all haters, but I do think on average the latter are far more judgmental and spiteful.
