Well, anyone who remembers when Billy Crystal took over as host and would mock Oscar musicals--he was doing a riff on Corey Feldman's participation in the number "I want to be an Oscar winner" from the 1989 show. It was the disaster where someone dressed as Snow White was running through the aisles and the show was so bad that the most modest thing was Billy Crystal pretending to tap dance with TicTacs in his mouth. That's how he got the gig.
