I'm pretty confident I have made this thread before, but I can't for the life of me find it, no matter what I search. It was years ago so maybe it was deleted.
Here are some of the ones I recall mentioning, and how long I would have liked an extended cut to be.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (3-4 hour cut)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (3 hours)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2.5-3 hours)
Interstellar (not sure as I need to rewatch)
Probably mentioned some more but I don't remember which. But just thinking now, Spider-Man 3 could have used one as well, maybe an extra 20-30.

My holy grail for one that could feasibly exist is The Thin Red Line. Entire characters and plots were cut out, and originally Adrien Brody was the main character.
I don't think much was shot for Goblet of Fire that wasn't in the movie, but in some fantasy land where there's a bit closer to the book, that'd be cool.

Nighthawks, the original cut, before Stallone ordered many of Hauer's scenes removed.
Cobra, first cut about 2 hours long, before over 30 minutes were removed.

Michael Mann’s 3hr cut of ‘The Keep’. Or even his 2hr cut.
The often lambasted 2018 film Slender man, is one film I would have liked to seen the original cut.

The Magnificent Ambersons (1942). Finding Orson Welles's assembly cut is the Holy Grail of all film discoveries. None has surfaced in the past 70 years, and it looks to remain that way. Such a tragedy. Cleopatra (1963). Accounts differ on how long the film's assembly cut was, but Richard Burton's performance is said to be the most hurt from the cuts. Ditto on the extended cut of The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965). If I remember correctly, the Library of Congress has a copy but it is in bad condition. Some effort must be made to restore the film. The Black Cauldron (1985). About 12 minutes, including the extended "cauldron born" sequence, was edited out of the film. Some of it remains to be colored so it would be quite an expense restoring the footage back into the film. Batman Forever (1995). Yeah I'd love to see that one, though probably never will, since Disney seems to have zero interested in releasing any kind of longer version of it. I still have the movie tie-in comic book which has many of those deleted scenes. The comic book version of Batman Forever is also much closer to Schumacher's vision. |

That's interesting because Hauer dominates the movie with what's in there. Since Stallone has a partner, and also Nigel Davenport is the mentor character, he is crowded to some extent while Wolfgar is on his own much of the time. The night club scene is a great sequence of silent acting--just the way Stallone stares at him.
