What do you eat for breakfast in really hot weather? My go to in winter is oatmeal. Cold cereal is good when it's hot but most of them raise my blood sugar too much. Lately, I've been eating a slice of sourdough bread, toasted/buttered with mashed avocado, lemon juice and salt on top. The sourdough doesn't raise my BS like regular breads. Avocados aren't cheap though, but I sometimes find bags of really small ones for a little cheaper. I eat a lot of scrambled eggs since we have our own chickens. Bacon is great as it doesn't raise my BS, but it's not really great for you. Waiting for our tomatoes to ripen.
This weekend, our temperatures are supposed to hit 105 with the heat index. Hope the A/C holds out, just don't want to see the electric bill later!!

Same as any other time but this morning I was naughty and had a piece of red velvet cake and Nescafe Brazil. I usually have a Joseph's mini pita made out of flax, oat bran and wheat with a spoon of olive hummus and a handful of blueberries on the side. I used to love cold pizza for breakfast but we never have left over pizza now. Before I was married, I would sometimes have a hamburger for breakfast, doesn't matter if its hot outside, that's what AC os for.

WKM - The A/C sure helps but I just get sluggish when it's this hot. I still have to do outside chores every day and it's just been SO hot and humid for the past few weeks. Too early in the summer to be this hot!

Too early in the summer to be this hot! I'm very sluggish in the hot weather too. Ever since I contracted malaria in Greece decades ago, I can't take the heat. I go outside to feed the wildlife and I'm drenched with sweat when I come in so I know what you mean. We're just having our regular hot temperature for July, no triple digits yet. I try to do all my shopping in the early mornings. Stay cool!

Staying inside as much as possible. The temperature hit 110 yesterday with a heat index of 107. At least there was a breeze, but still too hot. Take care!

I generally like cold cereal, waffles, fruit, toast, etc. during the summer months.

My breakfast is the same every day: cold cereal (fibre 1 or raisin bran or plain cheerios) and coffee. Sometimes add fruit to the cereal.

Don't think it changes with the seasons. Used to eat mainly the sugarless cereals like oats, shredded wheat etc, but always get hungry soon after, probably due to a lack of protein. So I have lately been eating more big breakfasts lately, bacon and eggs, hashbrowns and baked beans. Only concern now I guess is the bacon and oil to fry up the eggs, but I feel much better after a breakfast like this vs a pure carbs one.

My A1C had reached 10.5 when I was in the hospital with pneumonia because of the steriods they gave me. I have worked with my endocrinologist for almost a year (after my general practitioner put me on two more diabetes meds.) Endo. put me on a fourth one that worked better. I was able to get off of one (which was costing me a co-pay of $250 per month) I have been on only two for several months now and keeping my BS in range 85% of the time. Endo.and Cardiologist want me to go back on the third one because it helps my heart, kidneys, etc. I'm okay with that, but it's $140 per month. The other two meds. don't cost me anything with my insurance,
Anyway, I've been eating unusual breakfasts to keep my morning blood sugars in range. Can't eat cereal, pancakes, waffles, etc. without BS going sky high. Got sick of scrambled eggs every morning. Not that I don't like them and could spice them up with different veggies or bacon/ham, but just got tired of them every day. Now I'm switching them up, by having cottage cheese with 'everything bagel' seasoning, avocadoes and salads for breakfast. It's been working great so far and now my A1C is down to 7.1. Fingers crossed that it will continue to go down.
