from what I understand it is nothing like the book which understandably pissed off fans of the Asimov material (though the credits do say "suggested by the book" rather than "based on"). Still as a sci fi action blockbuster I think this is pretty damn good, and even has a few moments I would call "profound". Will Smith is at the top of his game here and Alan Tudyk also deserves a lot of credit for playing the motion capture CGI robot character Sonny. Definitely watched this one a lot when I was 13.
