We've heard before of actors/actresses talking about their favorite movies or roles of their own. But what about favorite performances? What are some examples of an actor/actress talking about an acting performance they've given that they felt was some of their best work? This is regardless if the role is one of their favorites or not. For example, Eddie Murphy recently gave an interview in which he said he feels his work as the Klump family members in "The Nutty Professor" (1996) is his best acting in a movie to date. The interviewer felt "Bowfinger" was Murphy's best acting work, but Murphy respectfully disagreed: "For me, there’s no comparison, but I like Bowfinger. But Nutty Professor. the mother… That stuff is real. Those makeups that Rick Baker did, they turn you into another person. There’s no sign of me. I could walk in a room, and a person wouldn’t even know I was me. I think that’s my best acting. Let’s put it this way. I like Bowfinger, but I could think of 20 other actors that could’ve played that role. I can’t think of another person who could do Nutty Professor."

I remember hearing somewhere that Jim Carrey thought The Truman Show was his best performance.

Alec Guinness thought playing der Fuhrer in HITLER THE LAST TEN DAYS (1973) was his most satisfactory film performance.
